Wondering what other members experience is when travelling on one actual booking (QF points), but travelling on 2 seperate airlines (Emirates & Jetstar Pacific)?

Our flight from AU / SIN is with Emirates (EK - 1st class) landing at 11.35pm, while our 2nd leg flight (SIN / SGN) is with Jetstar Pacific (BL - cattle) departing SIN at 11am. Check in opens 2-3hr's pre flight for Jetstar.

Have contacted all airlines involved: QF (booked through), Emirates & Jetstar. The only information provided was that bags need to be collected & checked in again.

My questions:

  • Without leaving customs, would we be able to either goto a transit hotel (cheaper then main hotel past security?), or rest/relax inside the airport?
  • Am I eligible to be transferred within transit?
  • "To be able to transfer flights without clearing immigration, you would have to have purchased transfer facilities as part of your flights. Most connecting flights purchased together would already have transfer facilities included. Do check with your purchasing agent if you are unsure."
Entire booking / flights are on the one Emirates "ticket & receipt" which I've accessed online. We don't really wish to clear customs after 12am, micro sleep till 7am, then start again (checkin / security & customs) from 8am.

Flights aren't for another month, but like to be organised. We could store all our things and go for an airport crawl even!

you should be available to interline / through check the bags.

EK has an interline agreement with BL

however even if you cant, i wouldnt be too fussed. 11am next day departure is plenty of time. for a higher risk solution, i would just head to airside transit hotel and not collect the bags off the conveyor (they will be sent to the baggage office). and collect it the next morning :)

So EK has an interline with RJ?

No issues with that connection. Just use transfer desk on arrival into SIN and they should issue boarding pass and manually transfer luggage.

Worse case scenario is you stay airside until morning and then collect your bags and check-in.

I've done all of the above many times. I don't care about check-in luggage through at point of origin.
