Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Just received my Cellarone delivery of Brookland Valley Reserve Cabernet 2013 from Toll.

Could cook an egg on them; a little frustrating, wish there was a way you could nominate a morning delivery.

Did you sign for it and accept delivery? If enough people start making a fuss about this, perhaps things will change.

Thanks Kangol - just bought a 6 pack of Punt Road pinot noir 2017 (JH 94, HH 92) for $20.25 per bottle delivered (cf $23.80 at Dan's). BWS say it will be delivered in an hour and 20 minutes - will be impressed if that is the case. Great value Yarra Valley pinot for $20.

It has already been delivered - outstanding. That is by far the fastest online purchase I have ever had.

Teachers pet received a 2nd visit from SV Principal today:

And the items in question - 6 x Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose + LP Ice Bucket:

Principal said that cause I was his favourite 'IDIOT' he would throw in the magnum of French bubbles (value $36) FREE - Tom actually served this drop at his engagement party - and a close up of the Champagne bucket:

Tom is also going to join us at next AFF get together at OT so best I get about it and arrange a night huh?

How rude, doesn’t he know you only allow champagne to pass your lips? I guess that magnum of drain cleaner will go - down the drain?

You need to educate him about bubbly wines quickly - or he will bring some non champagne “sparkling” to the Olive Tree get together, and you may be handed a glass :eek:o_O

Not sure if anyone has used Skye Cellars in Adelaide but they currently have a promo

Skye Cellars

If you buy their luckier dip - 12 bottles of red for $134.80 you have a 1 in 50 chance of winning a bottle of 2014 Grange valued at $900.

I've purchased a few of their lucky dips over the years and think they are good value.

Not sure if you have to a member though (which I am)

Coincidentally VPS, I've been dithering around having a look at Skye's offerings only a week or so ago and came across this Step Rd shiraz which intrigued me: Skye Cellars I've had a higher-rung Step Rd (cork enclosure $30 a bottle) previously and wondered what this cheapie is like as the higher-priced Shiraz was an absolute belter...

That looks good value. I always seem to be away when they have tastings around there

Agree, Ive had several issues with Toll and, when ordering from Cellarone

1 - A case of Reynella basket pressed was sitting at Toll depot for 4 days, when I rang them they said it was smashed. When I asked why I wasn't contacted they told me they were waiting for it to dry out, Cellarone was not informed either.
2 - The replacement Cellarone sent was then left sitting at my doorway - luckily I was tracking delivery and noticed the delivered staus so rushed home.
3 - Another case that sat at their depot three days, I rang to investigate if the same had happened and was told "No, but since the 'expected delivery' date on the item was still a day or two away they were under no obligation to deliver it.

I have previous spoken to Cellarone about the issue, and was advised they would soon be giving the option of Aust Post, but that hasnt occured as yet. Ive found Cellarone is always quite amicable when issues arise.

I missed Daver6's response sorry. I know in theory I am able to reject delivery, but in practice I have never done it. It's good idea, even if it does require a stern fortitude that I'm not sure I have. I like living a life untroubled by heated arguments (pardon the pun) with big bureaucratic organisations like CellarOne. However, maybe it's for the greater good, we need at least a few people to complain before any changes will be made. Has anyone ever rejected delivery due to heat before?

In this case, it was delivered to my work, signed for by a receptionist and then when I eventually opened it I found them hot, so unfortunately not a lot of scope for me to intervene.

Melbournites if I'm travelling from Tullamarine to Brunswick which is the best Dan Murphys to stop at to stock up for supplies. It looks like one in Louisa St Coburg and one in Lygon St (does this have parking?) TIA

If you're on the freeway - jump off at Bulla Rd and go to the Dan Murphy's opposite the Homemaker centre. (Dan Murphy's Essendon Fields)
