PGR Account cancelled after leaving bad review

Ok so I've been fairly loyal to PGR/GHA over the last few years - achieving Plat in PGR and Black in GHA

I booked a stay at Rydges last month via GHA (hoping I'd get a Local Experience as it was my first Rydges stay)

The hotel was a bit old and tired, and to make matters worse - they charged me 3.5% Amex surcharge on checkout despite this not being mentioned anywhere on GHA site, email confirmation or on check in.

I wrote to complain and left a bad review on Facebook. They did finally reply and advise that given the charge wasn't mentioned they'd refund it which they did.

A few days later with no notice, warning or communication - I can no longer log into my PGR account and my GHA account has been dropped from Black to Plat - when I asked GHA why - they said Rydges asked them to do it!

Any suggestions as to what I should do?

First, call Rydges ask for Manager and ask if what you have been told is correct. Negotiate re-instatement if possible.

If then refused, I would then go onto trip Advisor and post a factual review, including the aftermath.
 
What on earth?

If your account being cancelled was a direct result of your complaint, that is very poor indeed. I hope you can get this resolved.
 
Another post mentioned being dropped similarly with the exact same explanation, after asking for a status match or something. I think there is an issue with Rydges' systems, it's probably not malign.

Good luck with getting it fixed, and if it is malign make sure to post on TA about it, and here!

Was this ever resolved, preferably in your favour?
 
I can't remember how or what happened but yes they reinstated my Black status which I still have
