KC should take the Pats easily. Rams are a chance against the Saints. Maybe I'm just hoping for a re-match.

Well, the results are known - I'm of the ABP¹ brigade ...

The defensive coordinator for KC, Bob Sutton has been fired.

I saw this quote: "If the coin had landed on the other side, or if Dee Ford² knew where the line of scrimmage was, Bob Sutton still has a job and would almost certainly be back next year."

It was interesting to see the differences in offensive coaching comparing the Pats at a hostile KC stadium and the Chargers at Boston. The early on, the Chargers tries to audible plays at the line in a noisy environment creating confusion within the offense. Made it simpler in second half, but too late. The Pats at KC kept things simple with few Audibles and had a great start.

¹ Anyone but Pats ...
² The OLB who lined up in the neutral zone negating a likely game sealing interception of Brady.

Rams will be in their throwback uniforms ...

The Rams will wear blue and yellow throwbacks in Super Bowl 53

Another in the ABP camp, whilst admiring (begrudgingly) how Brady and Belichick rise to the occasion when the play-offs start. It's always a case of write them off at your own peril.

I do feel for the Saints after That Call. #notbitter

Go Pats for me.

There could be two rule changes from last weekends games, the 'TD wins overtime rule' which I think is an overdue change, and review of PI in final two minutes. The second one could (would) be a Pandora's box though and would need VERY stringent situations tied to it. Probably a few years away from coming in.

Just for fun, and in protest at the MNF crew calling the game on ESPN, my friends and I have created Romomania. One person is designated to start as Romo before the kickoff, and tries to predict plays presnap (how it will unfold, not just pass/run). If you are right the next person becomes Romo and starts trying. When a beer is empty the designated Romo at the time must collect it. They are also responsible for Nachos at the 2 min warning.

Lastly, for those who enjoy a small wager, the Pats will be the away team and have the right to call the toss. If the companies set that market at evens, it should be an easier collect than the result of the match...

Couldn't see all but what I did see live was very enjoyable.

Notwithstanding the loss I was impressed with KC and Mahomes - especially his post-game media call. Guy could be something special.

Rams got lucky on the non-call. But I think they were the better team through the year. Something is up with Gurley though. He'll be lucky to get many plays ahead of CJ now.

Can't help but respect the Pats. Not a huge fan of Brady but I am of Belichick (although Spygate...)

Watched 'The Two Bills' on ESPN a couple of times. 1991 as a kid was when I first saw any Gridiron and I somehow had a NYG cap - so that became my team. Had no idea who Belichick was until more recently but it was good to see that doco.

My recent host at a Giants game bemoans the circumstances that had Belichick departing the Giants.

His tenure at the Jets was even more bizarre. But yeah, got to wonder what the Giants might have achieved with Belichick over the past 25 years!

I'm so dirty about the non-call that robbed the Saints of a Super Bowl appearance.

But on reflection, the Saints shouldn't of ever got them into a position like that, there were a few questionable calls from Sean Payton, but overall the Rams defence was very impressive (Donald in particular was solid and the back to back sacks on Brees really showed how good they are).

Unsure if I'll watch the game, if I do I really hope the Rams defence dominate and make for a great game

Somehow I managed a whole day of work and activity but avoided hearing the result. So was able to watch my recording in ignorance.

Dull but fascinating game. Pity the commentary on ESPN was awful. I don't mind Booger and Whitten on MNF, but today they had zero control of the broadcast, no sideline coverage and clearly no booth support. Not to mention the embarrassing down under references. Made for a woeful experience.
