FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

Citi phoned for me on Mrscove’s mobile. We were in a tunnel on our way to Heathrow so Monday would work better.

Is the Citi Prestige still granting Hilton Gold with the card? The free brekky may sway some USA bookings I have to make this week, but I can't find it on their site.
Thanks.

I’m not surprised given Citi stopped issuing Hilton cards overseas and removed Hilton as a points transfer partner for their reward programs some time ago.

I think only Amex in Australia offers Hilton status on Platinum card now that Macquarie is no longer issuing Hilton cards.

Does anyone know what new cards being issued are made of? My current one is the black plastic with the globe on the front, they are cough cards. Been replaced once and started peeling within a month. I was speaking with the call centre but the person I spoke with blabbed on for a full minute before admitting she had no idea and would have to ask, and I don't have faith in their answer

I don't know what they're made of, but mine have been the same - peeling after minimal use. I'm about to cancel my Prestige - it's been devalued and reduced beyond its usefulness now.

Thanks. Is it really that bad now?

Just going to keep it for couple of years. Lots of travelling this year. Worked out to be the better for me.

Both the Ette and myself both keep ours - benefits as I see it are 2 x Airport transfers plus the biggie stay 4 pay 3 on hotel bookings - will save us combined in excess A$3K this year - as for pts earn as much value as titts on a bull

Thanks Cruiser. $3k? That is amazing. I will probably just get $1.2k value out of it first year.

Actually do you know if supplementary cardholders has any special benefits? In US, i know they could add them as Authorized Users. Don't think we can do it in Aus.

Yes, the supplementary holder can actually use the airport transfers. I am a supp to my husbands card, and
can use the transfers. I find the free night when booking four nights is sometimes not good value, as you can book hotels with a coupon code that gives you 16% off.

Finally got some value from the 4/3 deal - in LOTFAP - saved A$200
Plus a free night in Canada and 2x airport transfers
Not to mention all the PP's coming up in July
I'd say $800 this year - happy!

Just made back to back Stay 4 / Pay 3 bookings at Double 6 Seminyak - one on my card and other on the Ette's - saving of $70/nt for 70sq mtr ocean view suite - ~$280 saving each.

Because must have 7 clear days bw bookings needed to make a 3rd 4nt booking thru Hotels.com - 3% rebate thru CR brought base rate down to within $2 of hotel direct booking - but with Hotels.com Stay 10 / Free Night system = to ~9% off room rate so about $35/nt cheaper than booking direct after wash up.

Anyone used the transfers for Bali? Good car?

Last time I used it in BKK, got a Toyota yaris sedan. barely fit 2 large bags

Hey everyone, just thought I bring this one up again...

Any other ways to reap the benefit now? I've been doing the following, which adds up to be around a couple of grand, but since I haven't been tracking the benefit lately just wonder if there are any changes

- Transfer x2 (Japan worth around $500 for 2 trips)
- Free night stay x 1 (averaging $300 per night)
- Stay 4 pay 3, used twice saving around $400 per stay
- Travel insurance - claimed around $1k worth

Don't you just hate it when you have spent the last 6 weeks sitting on your cough in MEL with no O/S trips and yet somehow on Aug 3 you have spent €13.99 = A$23.70 on a Netflix subscription in Amsterdam?

No problemo waiting for a new card when that card is only used very spasmodically like for Stay 4 / Pay 3 bookings - 2 x free airport transfers - 1 free hotel nt but would be a pain in the ring if it was your every day card

Hit one of my daughter's card with the same transaction two days later on 5 August receiving an SMS message whether to accept or decline.
