Hi All

I'm flying to SYD-PER-SIN-LHR in July and I've got about 8 hours in Perth. 2 adults and 1 child. just need a reasonable bed for the night. Any suggestions?

thanks

Does reasonable = cheap? How important is the local transportation (both $ and time)?

Happy wandering
Fred
Hi Fred, doesn’t have to be cheap. Just looking for convenience as I’m landing at 19:00 and departing at 06;45. Thanks Luke

I'm going to assume not flying Qantas given the PER-SIN departure time. Therefore assuming you'll be arriving and departing from T1. This doesn't make a huge difference but slightly increases travel time compared to T3/4.

There are a bunch of motels and serviced apartments along Great Eastern Hwy (not an actualy highway) between Tonkin Hwy and the Farmer Fwy. I can't comment on any of them. Closer to the the Farmer Fwy you have an Aloft hotel that is newish and will have somewhere to dine. There's also Crown Casino with the myriad of hotel and dining options there.

Traffic will be minimal for your arrival and departure, so use Google maps as a pretty good drive time estimate to get to and from your accommodation. Heading into the city will open up many more options including dining options (although this is Perth, don't expect too much to be open late).

To some extent I think your dining requirements might drive your decision on this. If you're happy to get Uber eats, not fussed/hungry, then pick your price point and proximity.

If you narrow it down and want input on the area, just post back here.

Agree and it will be probably be a cold, dark, wet night in Perth in July ..Uber to nearest accomodation that is closest to the airport, then Uber eats for dinner at 8pm.

If you're going for cheap, the Sanno Marracoonda Perth Airport Hotel is perfectly acceptable and provides free airport transport. I've used it when arriving from JNB and connecting onto the redeye to Sydney

I have used the Aurum multiple times. Very good apartment style accommodation.
A bit over the top for a short overnight stay, but for me the location made up for it as I didn’t need a taxi.
Very walkable from the Qantas side and their shuttle will pick you up from either side.
Food wise, there is a servo next door but that is about it.
