Having caught this plane previously it does appear to have a late track record
It took off quite late last night from LAX.
Do they wait for passengers only and the luggage is dealt with later on another flight back to Aust to save time ?
Thanks
Edited to make more sense :)

They're building a new terminal at LAX. At the moment, that's having the effect of removing a number of gates from Tom Bradley, so parking is at even more of a premium than usual. A delay to any flight ripples through all of the airlines using the terminal. We were almost two hours late the other night. The 12 (787 from JFK) had arrived on time, and was sitting on a taxiway awaiting a gate, and it has a lot more available to it than the 380s. Our gate was occupied by an ANZ 777, which, when almost ready to go, got new weather/NOTAMs which meant they needed quite a bit more fuel. So they were delayed whilst loading that.

The 94 doesn't normally wait for the 12, but the 16 and 12 (380) usually do.

The one benefit of QF12 into SYD is that anything that makes the arrival late into SYD means a faster exit time from aircraft door to taxi. This is because the arrivals hall tend to empty a bit after 0830am.
When I flew it last week it arrived slightly late at 0900 and I was in a taxi by 0930 and North Sydney by 1000am with checked luggage.

I have not done T1-T3 transfers (international to domestic) but would assume it would also be quicker as well
