QF APIS and American Airlines Secure Flight

I filled in the APIS on the QF website last week. This morning I received a missed call and voicemail from AA saying that information about Secure Flight is missing some passenger information.

I logged in and double checked. Everyone's info is in. Except middle names. Which apparently is not a problem.

Currently on chat with QF who have said
You may ignore the message you received regarding the missing APIS. Your booking is all good and the passengers are ticketed. The booking will be not ticketed if there are missing documents for the flight.

It was very disconcerting to receive that message from AA. I've never received it before on trips to LOTFAP

Now that I think about, any booking I've made through QF never had the middle name option. I can't remember if I added it during the actual booking or not.
 
I was still apprehensive about this whole thing so I hit up American Airlines on Twitter and asked them.

We were direct messaging and they told me my sons DOB and gender were missing. They fixed it up right then and there.

I wonder if its an infant thing where this happens? I don't recall this issue when we flew to the US when our daughter was an infant.

All info gets passed across. It's just that QF MMB enters it in the PNR in an invalid format for other carriers.

Hence best to do it for both GDS references.

I know I can only select seats for an AA flight on AA.com with a QF booking and this selection does get passed back to the QF Amadeus PNR.
 
Try it with the QF Amadeus booking ref. - you may be surprised ...

(Also, note down the AA SABRE reference that would appear.)

I looked in my sons details and his DOB and gender were empty, so I don't know what AA did when I was talking to them. His passport details were missing too.
 
You were wise not to rely on assurances from the chat feature. (And to get tips from the above experts!)
