A division of Emirates (EK) that specialises in cruises is advertising lengthy cruises on the former 'Pacific Eden', renamed under its new owners to 'Vasco Da Gama.'

Have any AFFers travelled on it, or considered it, and what experiences or impressions do you have?

It’s weird you should post this as just a couple of hours ago I was listening to a 30 minute radio show about this ship. It’s about to be rebranded in Singapore from Pacific Eden. It was formerly a HAL ship that toured Alaska previously. It sounds good and is being heavily promoted in SA plus it will have several world voyages. It was refurbished not that long ago. It sounded interesting. Some great deals to be had too.

Yes, while lacking your expertise, when I saw these full page ads in 'Herald Sun' I quickly calculated a per day cost (but can't remember if some drinks were included, or the tipping requirements) and it seemed low which I why I asked.

In these circumstances one always wonders whether the price is cheap because the quality of (in this case) the ship is very poor, so it's reassuring to have positive sentiments from an experienced cruiser like yourself.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Well I haven’t been on this ship and sometimes it’s about the service as well plus food experience. Would be good to hear of someone has been on the ship and knows the layout etc. maybe you could try one of the four day teasers. I’d not do a party style cruise of an overnight as they end up being booze trips. Nasty.

I think the prices are low as it’s only just hit the market being rebadged and they haven’t done the marketing.
