This is a good opportunity to get a big bonus upfront before AMEX downgrades the point earn next year. If you haven't held this card in the past 18 months, now is the best time to apply.

$400 travel credit to offset the annual fee
2x entrances per year to the Amex lounge in Sydney or Melbourne

Last chance to get in before devaluation next April! So if you qualify for the sign-on bonus, a good time to transfer. The card earns 2 gateway points per dollar - currently equivalent to 1.5 Velocity/Krisflyer/Asia Miles.

I also managed to recently link the gateway to the ascent program (my Platinum Edge Card)- meaning an effective rate of 2 points per $ uncapped across Velocity, Asia Miles and Krisflyer.

Although with the disappointing announcements today regarding Membership Rewards devaluations, we still have until April 2019 under the current rules. There is still significant value to the points with the current 1=0.75 ratio for Krisflyer, Velocity, Asia Miles and Emirates.

The 100k MR bonus is good for 75k Krisflyer miles.
