I was over in Italy some weeks back when I got an email from AirAsia that our flight/service from Japan to Bali next year, had been cancelled. I then used Skyscanner to check for alternatives, and it came up with Philippine Airlines via Manilla through BudgetAir.com.au. Cost was around $860 for the two of us.

I checked the Philippine Airline site for the same flight, and cost was around $1100. So I booked the flight with BudgetAir.com.au, and after fees and an extra, cost came to $910. Which was only around $70 more than what I'd paid for the Air Asia flight on their premium package. The downside was an extra five hours travel time. The upside was a non-budget plane.

When I got home two days ago, I tried to select seats on the two Philipinne Airline flights, both at their site and at the Budget Air site, but couldn't do so. I just wanted to make sure that my wife and I would be sitting together on both flights. So I emailed Budget Air, asking how to do it.

They emailed me back next day, saying they had contacted Philippine Airlines, that seats had been allocated with us sitting together, and here were the seat numbers.

Can't complain about excellent service like that.

Has anybody else had experience with Budget Air?
Regards,
Renato
