In 2013, on my first trip back from SIN to PER, when QF still flew the 330, I had a QF boarding pass for the flight from SIN - PER.
Had checked in with the QF website, and printed the boarding pass from the hotel's computer and printer, yes, I *now* know that there is a risk of my QFF account being taken over by doing this, but...
Does the SATS or SPF person at the initial screening point, still need the thicker cardoardy type of airport provided boarding pass to make his stamp onto it, to get to the entry point to ICA (Singapore) outgoing immi counter?
At the time in 2013, he (the guard) mentioned I had to go to the counter to check in, he didn't accept the A4 paper boarding pass I had.
So, just mentally preparing for a possible flight to SIN again, maybe in 2020, whats the procedure now in/at Changi?
Do they now accept home or hotel printed boarding passes? OR QR code on mobile device.
And why I chose QF subbranch to ask, reason I plan to fly QF ADL - MEL/SYD/BNE - SIN, and not fly SQ direct from ADL - SIN.
Thanks.

I wouldn’t worry. You can print your boarding pass at the check in machines at Changi. Quick and efficient, whether you have checked in online first or not. Not actually sure if they accept QF mobile BP’s ... they do for Jetstar Asia flights. In any event come back and ask the same question a few weeks before travel, still a while and things change.

If you get a mobile boarding pass for another international starting point, then yes, your mobile boarding pass is sufficient, and that is all that is needed.

Mobile boarding pass is fine, including originating SIN. Source: did it ten minutes ago :)

But not for Security in HKG recently.
No paper boarding pass (which can be stamped I believe) -> no entry to security.
Mobile pass is a problem for late night transit or entry to an airside lounge.

Thanks for the one, too, Jrobin.
Will keep that one in mind, have a plan down the track to go ADL - HKG - HND/NRT one day.
CX now departs ADL quite late at night, would be good for me as I can finish job and then get to ADL airport for the late night flight out to HKG.

then why ask about SIN???

then why ask about SIN???

Because they might be maybe preparing for a possible hypothetical flight - maybe in 2020, maybe via HKG, maybe never - and they need to know what the procedure is in SIN now so they can mentally prep for a procedure that could change again in the next two years.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

At this stage, I am trying all the ways to entry NZ, like CHC/WLG/AKL, I do have a plan to get the 380 to SIN, later on, and the 380/330 to HKG, all with QF.
Given up on SC runs now tho.
Never been to HKG/HND/NRT before.
Been to SIN many times, over the years.
Have been to NZ many times since 2013 as well.

At SIN there is no need to check-in & print boarding passes from a hotel computer & printer. QF allows use of the early check in lounge (behind row 5). This lets you check in many hours earlier than the kiosks become available for check-in.

And there's nice comfy seats too.
