Kimpton hotels are great. They're all a bit quirky in their own way (so if you want a cookie cutter business hotel, don't stay there) and service has always been excellent. I love the nightly wine hour that's held in the lobbies - nice and social and much better than being locked away in an exec lounge.
Hotel Vintage in Portland is one of my all time favourite hotels. Each floor is named after a wine region, and each room named after a winery.
Hotel Monaco in Denver is also outstanding with an amazing Italian restaurant onsite. Last time I stayed there I ate at the restaurant three nights in a row
I was also a regular at Hotel Palomar in San Francisco before it left the brand. Haven't stayed at the specific properties you've mentioned though.
