Hi All

I have a decent amount of long haul travel coming up in Qantas economy, I would like to watch stuff I pre-load onto my phone to pass the time.

I was wondering what type of mount would be the most versatile to attach my phone to the seat in front, or more ideally to the entertainment screen? for the times I have a bulkhead seat and there is no seat in front to attach things to.

I'm currently tossing up between a suction cup mount or a clamp mount that attaches to a tray table. There's also things like the Flight Flap (bit expensive to get it from the states though)

Has anyone used something they can recommend?
Would the flight attendants care if I attached a suction cup directly to a monitor screen?
Or has anyone attached a suction cup to the 'carbon fiber' part of the Qantas economy setbacks with reliable grip?

I understand it's not what you asked about but a third option is a wallet case for your phone

I'm a big fan of wallet cases that you can set up to watch a stuff on your phone, ones that are designed to sit on a table in front of you angled so you can watch stuff.

I use one and have for a few years. I use it everyday with bank cards and license instead of a normal wallet.

Some of the later Qantas aircraft (787) have a slot in which phones can fit, and the iPad 330s you can use the iPad frame.

Otherwise I've seen little fold out stands that can sit on tray tables, and even people using a clear plastic bag and securing it using the tray table lock.

I suspect they wouldn't like suction cups on a bulkhead

Ah, a phone case could be good, but my neck might not like staring down for ages. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I did see that feature on the 787 seats, but unfortunately all my flights are on the 380.

A sandwich bag should actually be a super cheap option, so I might just pack some in my carry-on as a backup if a suction cup mount doesn't work. :)
