New Amex statement credits

IIRC previous amex HN statement credit offers have explicitly mentioned "no gift cards" and it's not there this time; other than this in the full offer terms. Maybe they think it's under control

I've noticed this with a number of other offers as well. Just seems to be the way that AMEX is structuring the promos now. IE. They are full upon the full terms.

Very easily. It's common for people to sell the gift card.

It’s also common to sell mobile phones and NC headphones. If brand new and sold at discount they will be as easy to sell online as gift cards.

I believe that in the end the vast majority of GC buyers will end up using them or, even better for HN, not using them at all. HN losing business by preventing a few from sell their cards while losing many other genuine customers.

But HN will still get the money...even better if people don't use the HN GC before it expires!

Agreed and this ought to provide a juicy incentive for retailers to do GCs (as opposed to prepaid credit cards) during these promotions. Retailers who go out of their way to prevent it, shoot themselves in the foot IMO.

Things must’ve changed at the Liverpool HN where they’ve previously accepted 13 of my cards when I paid for my carpet.

I'd suggest it has something to do with corporate marketing not talking to the branches/franchisees.

Can confirm that buying gift cards works also, my daughter shops there for milk and things so this worked out well.
