Peppers Kings Square is a relatively new hotel in Perth having opened in November 2016. I was in Perth for a couple of nights a fortnight ago. When I'm only staying at a hotel for a night or two I am less fussy about a hotel's amenities, such as not having a pool or gym. Nevertheless I was hoping for a comfortable place to crash at nights in between busy days and I'm pleased to say did the job. I paid about A$160 per night.

Peppers Kings Square on the fringe of the Perth CBD at 621 Wellington St, a few blocks west of Perth station - very close to Perth Arena. Wasn't easy to find at 8pm at night (11pm on my body clock having just come from Sydney) but I made it.

I was in Room 803 - right across the elevator. How's that for convenience?! ;)

The first thing I noticed in my room was a 'corner' window - unlike any other I'd seen at any other hotel.

When I opened the curtains it was a beautiful view into Perth's inner Northern suburbs.

Here's the same view in the morning...

The bed was very comfortable...

The bathroom was good, there was both a portable nozzle and 'rain' shower-head, and you could seamlessly transition between the two with a separate tap just as seamless as turning the water on and off.

Downstairs there was a bar/cafe. Breakfast was not included in my room rate - I just went elsewhere but it looked like there was decent coffee (as well as alcohol in the evening). It did get busy later in the day - I took these two photos at 5.30am (It is commonly forgotten that although when we switch clocks forward in the Eastern states the evenings get lighter; the mornings get darker, for a while. Not in WA - I could see the first light at 4.45am)

As I said I didn't like the lack of a gym but instead I went on morning runs at 4.30am to Subiaco oval and back and that was fine.

Overall it was a good place to stay for a couple of days. In some cities like I have default go-places such as the Peagus Apart Hotel down in Melbourne. Perth is a city where I've yet to develop such a habit but Peppers Kings Square is certainly a contender for such a title.

Thanks for the post NSun, nice to read your report

(I do think we have different opinions on what is a beautiful view though o_O )

I jagged one night here for 3 of us in mid late October in interconnected ‘family, rooms.

Was a bit more than I’d preferred to pay but hey a $30 QF voucher assuaged my guilt....
Still one night there for 3 was 2 nights for 2 at Miss Maud’s including breakfast and free wifi...

I gather the Executive Club lounge is available on this room but the website was light on details as to what that involved. Is it a free canapés and drinks deal ? Or just an exclusive place to go where you pay for your drinkies?
