I'm a previous seasoned traveller, having obtained both QF and VA WP simultaneously.

I'm about to commence a new job that is going to see considerable travel, and trying to get a lay of the land since it's been about 4 years since I've been travelling a fair bit.

My current state is:

- 285K VA points, currently Gold and needing another 168 SC in 2 months to re-obtain
- 19K QF points, currently Bronze and needing 575 SC's for LTS

I've been told I can book my own travel, providing there isn't a massive mismatch in price. Has to be in Y though.... I'm likely to be on a domestic flight probably every 2nd week, with my base in BNE and travelling mainly to SYD or MEL.

I'm off to our US HQ in September and most likely October, so thinking to at least push that towards VA and then start to work towards whatever long term plan I'm looking to work towards.

I have an AMEX Explorer card and can obviously distribute those points to multiple places.

I'm happy to do status runs, but it seems those AA F options aren't really that feasible anymore.

If you were in my position, where would you push your travel towards?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
