Thursday 15 November 2018 has MH140 (2215 hours SYD up to KUL with A333 9M-MTE) taking off at 2257, cutting it fine for curfew, with arrival on 16 November likely at 0424 hours, 34 late.

Thursday 29 November 2018 sees MH149, the overnight from KUL down to MEL arriving at 1014 hours, 89 minutes late. A333 9M-MTB is the aircraft. As the returning MH148 does not depart until 1510, it should be on time, highlighting how it is good for international airlines to allow much greater than minimum turnarounds where they can obtain slots and it is otherwise feasible with connections at the other end.

Wed 5th of December sees MH149 KUL-MEL 21 50 service depart until 00 16, arrival is suggested at 10 52, 127 tardy. (9M-MTF).

Thursday 13 December 2018 sees MH149, the redeye from KUL to MEL (A333 9M-MTB) suggested as arriving at 0938 hours, 53 minutes tardy.

Continuing today, MH141 KUL-SYD (9M-MTA) is currently diverting to MEL after trying to circle around SYD. Arrival into MEL is expected around 21 26.

MH140, the 2215 hours SYD - KUL (A333 9M-MTI) took off at 2337 on Thursday 20 November, another afternoon and early evening of huge storms in SYD. It is at least the seventh departing aircraft tonight to presumably have a dispensation.

@Melburnian1
My assumption for this question is that Friday night is a late to bed night for many people

Do the dispensation authority take that assumption into account in the granting of curfew dispensation (if ever this is contemplated on a Friday night?)

Don't know, but the granting of dispensations seems to have become more common (i.e. fewer refusals) under the Federal Coalition Government.

This is the most recent report tabled in Federal Parliament:

https://infrastructure.gov.au/aviat...ationReports/2018/files/Webreport-11-2018.pdf

You will note that there were no refusals, as these must also be documented.

Last night (Thursday 20 December) there were at least 10 flights that took off from SYD after 2300 hours, all to the south as is required. There were also arrivals: at least one, but I probably missed others. The latter may result in many Sydney residents being affected by late night aircraft noise, as I assume they landed from the north.

Presumably if Rwy 34 is required by the flight deck at SYD due to wind direction (resulting in tailwind takeoffs to the south on Rwy 16) then any dispensation approval might be a moot point for some aircraft whose takeoff performance does not allow Rwy 16

Tuesday 2 January 2019 has MH129, the 0920 hours KUL - MEL that took off at 1016 (A333 9M-MTD) likely to arrive at 2048 hours, 33 late.

A333 9M-MTL on MH149, the KUL - MEL redeye, is arriving on Thursday 3 January 2019 at 0926, 41 late. As MH148 does not have a timetabled departure until 1510 this afternoon, it should be unaffected. This means the returning MH136 timetabled to push back at 0930 will be unable to do that until at least 1020 hours.

MH122 (A359 9M-MAF, the 1310 hours SYD - KUL that did not become airborne until 1530 hours mid afternoon on Friday 11 January 2019) should arrive at 2034, 109 late.

A333 9M-MTM on MH139, the Monday 28 January 2220 hours redeye down from KUL to ADL took off at 2310. Tuesday 29 arrival should be at 0830 hours, half an hour behind the timetable.

MH140 cancelled. The inbound was diverted to MEL due to weather at SYD and now unable to make curfew at SYD.

It will depart at at 13:30 hrs tomorrow.

J pax put up at Mercure Syd Airport, transfer by cabcharge
Y pax at Ibis Darling harbour transfer by bus

I could actually go home using same cabcharge but I think I’ll Mercure it
