Chasing the Q Suite on LHR-DOH flights

Hi everyone,
I'm looking at flying LHR-DOH on QR6 in mid Sept and am keen to try the Q Suite. Is there a way of telling if it's the Q Suite? They mention the seatwidth is 21.8inches and pitch is 78 inches on the website and I believe that's the old 2-2-2 layout? But I was under the impression that almost all LHR-DOH flights had the refurbished 777s?

The seat map will tell you (eg on ExpertFlyer). It's quite different for a Qsuites aircraft from a classic 777.

I noticed this when my CBR-DOH flight in October changed to Qsuites recently.

However, just bear in mind that QR is renowned for swapping aircraft types at short notice.
 
Good luck with that. I had booked a flight DPS - DOH - CDG last November as one of the sectors had the Q Suite. Then 4 months ago Qatar changed the plane. Not happy Jan.
 
Thanks for the replies! I completely forgot about Expert flyer (I have a free account but that should still be fine).

And yeh QR are terrible with swapping aircraft. I recall flying via DOH 2 years ago to try out the A350 and 1 month before the flight it changed to a 787. After finally accepting I'd be flying in a Dreamliner, it changed to an A330 and then 2 days before the flight it returned to an A350...

looking to fly Qatar next year to JFK and part of the attraction is Q suites out of Canberra to Doha. However I have just said to Mr FM that we should look on it as a bonus if we get it, as airlines are notorious for changing equipment :(.
 
There is also a list on FlyerTalk of the aircraft rego's that have Q suites. You could look at the routes they're on via flightradar as well.
 
Ok an update. We had Q suites on flight Doh - CDG. As long as the middle barrier goes down it’s ok. As a single, don’t book the rear facing and middle seats.
 
We currently have Qsuites on all 4 legs of cbr-doh-jfk and return, so I guess we can’t lose all of them :)
 
I've had rear-facing (on the window) a couple of times. What's the problem?
The window ones are perfectly fine. If you are in the middle the Barrier that lowers down is basically touching your arm rest. Which means until it is lowered, it is extremely claustrophobic to have that high metal barrier within a few inches of your face. I banged it multiple times with my elbow - you can’t help it, it’s just there. It’s purple. It’s high. It’s right in your face. If you are on your own they will not bring it down. Of course as a couple it will come down. Takes two attendants to do that and you have to wait until they are available.

Thankfully I managed to get a Q Suite equipped 777 on my flight and it was fantastic. Great service and a wonderful seat.
Window? They did look good. That’s what I’d selected originally. But because we were a couple they wouldn’t let us have window seats.

Yep, 10A. Offered a great view of the GE90 too. :)
 
I don't mind GE90 glimpses from 1A or K :):D.
That's the worst thing about row 1! No engine views! I'm sure I couldn't seen the engine at all on a CX 77W from 1A. #firstclassproblems

Love the engine views in your videos. So please, please please keep selecting seats as far back as you can.

This post has nothing to do with keeping seats for JohnM and/or me up front.
