I'm instructed it's going to be Europe. I'm not really looking forward to it. A long way to go for a handful of crusty old buildings in need of a good pressure clean.

The upside is, I'm going to try to bareboat somewhere nice and hopefully sneak in Cuba and Galapagos. No idea how, just yet.

Sep 18 - 7 nights in Tahiti, air new Zealand economy return. Saved on airfare but hotel is a killer.
Dec 18 - 9 nights in WA, booked while velocity were having 30% discount on points redemption. Business class 2 adult 2 kids, very good price.
Apr 19 - 10 nights Osaka, Kyoto, booked via Qantas business class, hotel book by using marriott points, possibly cancel and rebook hotel after 1st Aug.

Jul 19 - Depart for a 3 month RTW holiday (Managed to stack that much leave at work without being forced to take it surprisingly). Have just booked the first 3 flights on a Business oneworld reward the other day. Will be spending time in Vancouver, Toronto & New York before taking a 40 day tour around South America (Equador to Brazil) then flying to Europe for around a month. Plus a few long stopovers in other places.

Very happy getting 2 separate holidays on the one ticket, got to thank this forum for that outcome

Not sure we will have the energy to do anything during second half of 2019

Tokyo perhaps March 2019 however new grandbaby will be very new so not sure
Europe Nov/Dec hopefully on Cathay with award seats
A trip to LA at least once.
Not as much as usual

We are waiting for the various airline sales later on this year before deciding where we go. It is a bit of fun reading through the various destinations before saying - Lets go there!

Tokyo and Bali in May.

Don't know about later in the year, either Europe again via Tunis/Carthage, or some Luxury Escape or two.
Regards,
Renato.

Wow 2019???? Still haven't finished 2018 and at least 4 more trips to plan to the end of the year. I know Bali Sep 2019 is on, but so far away.

Sad thing is with my working/travelling life there is no adrenaline there like in the old days where you counted the days down, read all the travel guides and even exchanged the currency at home. Sometimes miss those innocent days very much............

I will be traveling to Taiwan and Indonesia next year. Any tips on what should I keep in mind when I visit these countries next year?

That is a big question/topic, just so much and understand what you mean by to "keep in mind". Both are very different countries in many ways; food, people, culture, transport, etc, etc,. You can explore Taiwan quiet easily as they have a fast train running down the spine of the country, whereas in Jakarta you will enjoy traffic at its best, that is traffic jams. Then there is the food, if you're used to Aussie Chinese, be prepared for things to be very different. One can go on and on, about Keelung, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Surabaya, etc, but you need to be a bit more specific. But one thing, enjoy!!!!!

Big plans for 2019 is to cash in on a Star Alliance RTW award via SQ. As we'll be travelling in Nov/Dec, I don't think I'll be able to book anything until later this year, or early next year, but that's the plan. Want to visit a few places in North America and Europe.

We'll also probably go to Tasmania at some point next year, as a friend recently moved down there. We've never been, so that will be exciting.

I'm still struggling to get on top of 2018 plans. Somewhere in the back of my brain is the idea bubbling away of Botswana, Madagascar, Tanzania with a stop in Nairobi at Giraffe Manor. However, given other things going on in my life I'm not sure I have the energy to make it happen.

Other idea includes a driving trip around the fjords of Norway combined with Shetland Islands. Maybe even a cruise from Hawaii to Sydney.

Three weeks in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, AKA the 5 'Stans :):):). Fulfilling a MAJOR bucket list ambition; its over a year away and I'm already poring over maps and guides.

Trying hard to find a suitable tour in Sudan.

Will you be doing a tour in the Stans? @RooFlyer If so, could you possibly share, this region is on my bucket list too.

Booked SYD-HKG-HEL-LHR-HEL-HGK-SYD through AY for 29/12/18 to 29/1/2019, with first leg CX 777, AY A350 to from HKG, and last leg with QF A380, all in J. Now that eldest daughter, granddaughter back in UK we will be passing through there or staying there on most trips. This time will be all in UK, when I hope to get back to Emirates stadium for the first time in 3 years.

We are also pencilled-in for a return visit for their long school holiday (Aug/Sep 2019) when various side trips to Greece, France etc can be inserted. Probably be about 6 weeks away that time.
EDIT: Just noticed SponsorFC indicating ashes are in August 2019, so expect to be at a test or two then.

The problem of booking early. Our next trip has been thrown into disarray. The major part was B2B cruises Honolulu to Easter Island. They were cancelled today 8 weeks out from the start date and ~ 6 weeks until we were leaving home.
So back to 2018 planning.
