Hi all,

I am seeking help in obtaining an award ticket booking from London (any airport) to Copenhagen on Aug 1 for two adults and one infant on lap in J. Preferably leaving in the afternoon (7pm at the latest). Must be direct flight.
I have sufficient Qantas and Virgin miles as well as Amex points. Happy to use any option

I have done a basic search and can't find any award availability in J.
Keen to fly business as we need the additional luggage and would appreciate the lounge/better service with baby in tow.
Paid J tickets seem to hard to justify. Happy to transfer the $29 "service fee" if anyone can find a flight that fulfils the above criteria

Thanks in advance

Not an award flight, but SAS Plus Saver will give you two 23kg bags each and lounge access for AUD711.60 including the infant, leaving at 18:30 from LHR on SK1516.

BA808 LHR-CPH departing 21:30 is all I can find as an award flight in J on 1/8...nothing award prior to 7pm.

Thanks both for your replies. BA 808 would unfortunately be too late with an infant in tow. SAS plus saver might be the way to go.
Ideally looking at an award booking as have a surplus of points at the moment but looks like options and availability are scarce

BA808 seems to be the only flight that day with award seats available (2 in J).

Paid J on BA for an earlier flight would be about £800, if you have Avios (or can transfer from Amex) you can save £100 for 15,500 pts but still pricy. Cheaper to pay for excess luggage and a lounge.

You could make it a kind of "award" by using Amex points to pay for it through Amex travel, but I'd just use cash.

Few problems for finding awards there:
- It's only a few months out, and the peak of Summer with lots of travel so availability will be low.
- You require direct which limits you to only two options with business class for luggage and lounges: BA and SAS
- A tight timeframe limits options even more.

FF is realistic when you are flexible, book early, and/or are travelling off peak - none of which apply here.

As per above suggestions, you need to relax your requirements, or go with the paid option at this stage.

If requirements can't be relaxed and you want most bang for buck, in the above, I'd go for
Norwegian Air D8 2908, LGW - CPH 1525 -> 1815 (1h50)
Total cost: 2 adults, 1 lap infant, 4 pieces of luggage = EUR 364.78 + GBP36 for lounge access for 3. Approx $625 AUD.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for your responses. Yes, I agree that my restrictions make finding an award flight almost impossible.
I have been quite lucky to find J award flights for our other intra-Europe flights: Copenhagen to Rome (SAS) and Venice to Paris (Swiss via Zurich), just this London to Copenhagen leg has been tricky.
Given the exorbitant J paid fares and the general lack of "bang for your buck" for European J, might have to go for an economy booking with extra luggage purchased

I'd just take the two J seats on 808 myself. The kid'll just sleep through it ;)
