South African Airways is currently offering heavily discounted award redemptions on SAA operated flights, including between Perth and Johannesburg. PER-JNB will cost 15,000 miles in Economy or 49,650 miles for Business class. It works for other routes too. Availability is surprisingly good, although I can't work out what the taxes/YQ is like - it will only let you proceed if you have enough miles in your Voyager account. The offer ends on 2 June 2018.

Not a bad way to spend Voyager miles really if you happen to have some.

I have just bid (cash) on an upgrade from Y to J for my PER-JNB flight on 1 June (and return on 8 June) so hopefully availability remains good and I get to lay down for 11 hours over night instead of sitting up in Y.
