On Friday 18 May 2018, the 1515 hours mid afternoon QF9 (VH-ZND) from MEL across to PER and then up to LHR was amended to a 1600 hours departure. However it did not push back until 1706, so arrival in the WA capital became 1839, 84 late. Departure is expected at 2010 (85 late) with LHR Saturday 19 arrival at 0620 hours, 75 late.

Utilisation of these new B789s can be rather sparse on some days for the '4th one' with, for instance, VH-ZNB arriving in MEL ex LHR and PER on 16 May at 2013 hours and then yesterday only doing a return MEL - SYD (QF462 northbound, the 1900 hours and 'the last' QF497 ex SYD at a scheduled 2205 hours. Then today it has done QF476/QF485 MEL - PER return.

On Friday 18 May, QF9 ended up departing PER at 2003, 78 late so on Saturday 19 should be at LHR's gate at 0620 hours.

QF10 is delayed an expected 55 minutes in LHR on Friday arvo, with suggested departure at 1410 hours.

Saturday 19 May sees QF63, the 1055 hours morning SYD - JNB B744 predicted to depart 35 minutes late.

QF10 on Friday 18 departed LHR 76 late at 1431, so PER arrival should be at 1357 today (Saturday 19), 57 late. Departure for MEL is estimated at only 50 late (1520) which would see arrival at 2050 hours, 55 late.

In further on 19 May 2018, the delayed QF10 was in PER from 1351 (51 minutes tardy) to 1524 (54), taking off at 1535, with suggested arrival in MEL tonight at 2057 hours, 62 late. The 2140 hours QF95 from MEL to LAX remains publicly displaying as 'on time' but given it's the same gate number and aircraft as QF10, it will be delayed by at least 50 minutes in its pushing back.

Friday 18 May 2018 has QF12, the transcon from JFK across to LAX having taken from 1901 hours (51 minutes late) to 2154 (54 minutes tardy) to cross that nation. The connecting QF12 then departed LAX a similar 55 late at 2325 meaning Sunday morning 20 May should see the arrival at 0721, 51 late again.

'The 16' is not expected to depart LAX until 0200 hours this morning local time for a BNE arrival at 0850 tomorrow (Sunday 20), 165 late. If so, this will delay tomorrow morning's BNE - LAX B744, QF15.

QF8 is rarely delayed but on Fridy 18 it commenced pushing back in DFW at 2218, 28 late; on Sunday 20, it should have passengers ready to alight at roughly 0754 hours, 49 minutes behind schedule.

Today (Saturday 19) QF63 departed SYD at 1219, 84 minutes tardy for a projected JNB arrival at 1740 hours, 40 late. This will delay the overnight QF64 in its departure at least a little but it often picks up time on the schedule.

Sunday 20 May 2018 sees QF63 (1055 hours late morning SYD - JNB) having commenced pushback at 1152. Arrival is predicted 44 late at 1744 hours.

Another B744, QF73 (1245 hours SYD - SFO) is expected to depart half an hour late.

A third, the 1235 hours SYD across to SCL (QF27) should depart 25 late at 1300 hours sharp.

QF73 looks to have pushed back and returned back to gate. Aircraft is VH-OJU.

Looks like VH-OEF will now operate this flight around 3 hours late after arriving in as QF64.

This means the OJU will now need to operate tonight’s QF25 to HND.

Thanks Flyerqf. QF64 arrived at 1540 hours in SYD, 45 late on Sunday 20 May. QF73, as you indicated, then departed (though earlier than you'd suggested) at 1737 hours, 292 minutes late. Expected SFO arrival is 240 minutes late at 1305 same day.

Although Saturday 19 May's transcon USA QF12 was only 10 minutes late arriving in LAX at 2110, the connecting A388 on QF12 did not depart until 40 minutes behind schedule at 2310. Monday 21 arrival will be at 0720 hours, 50 late.

QF16 from LAX to BNE pushed back at 2346, 26 late; Monday 21 arrival is forecast as 0645 hours, 40 late.

Not sure why, but 'the 96' departed LAX at 0113 hours today, 78 late for a Monday morning projected MEL arrival 40 late at 0905 hours.

As indeed it is doing, having taken off on time or a smidgeon early at around 2107 tonight, so an early arrival at HND on Monday 21 May is probable. This flight is often early arriving, especially northbound.

Earlier on Monday 21 May 2018, QF35 (1155 hours MEL - SIN A388) departed 65 minutes late, which is quite unusual as this flight is usually formed by QF94 ex LAX. Arrival is expected soon at 2045 hours, 60 minutes tardy.

'The 9' has not often been late out of MEL (although it has been arriving in LHR) but on 21 May, it departed the southern capital 70 late at 1625 hours for a PER arrival at 1756, 41 late. PER departure is expected at 1930, 45 minutes behind for a Tuesday 22 arrival in London at 0540 hours, 35 late.

On Tuesday 22 May, QF413, the 0745 hours SYD - MEL with B738 VH-XZD did not become airborne until 0920 so arrival is suggested at 1035, 75 late.

QF480 (0605 hours PER - MEL that did not take off until 0652) is arriving at 1208 hours, 33 late with A332 VH-EBN.

UPDATE: VH-XZD then formed the 0955 hours MEL - OOL, QF828, that was in the sky at 1130, so arrival is a suggested 1322 hours, 82 minutes late.

This ended up arriving in LHR at 0543 hours, 38 late this morning (22 May.)

Wednesday 23 May 2018 finds QF23 (that did not operate yesterday in a planned cancellation during the lower demand month of May) departing SYD 45 late at 1035 hours. BKK arrival should be at about 1721 this afternoon local time, 41 late.

Further south, the usually punctual QF79 (MEL - NRT) departed 109 minutes late at 1059. Expected arrival is is 2015 tonight, 100 minutes tardy. QF62 is not running tonight (also a planned cancellation) so QF80 may be the flight delayed overnight back down to MEL, although presently it's showing as an on time 2005 hours departure ex NRT.

Also on 23 May, QF2023 (1350 ARM down to SYD that was airborne at 1436, Q300 VH-SBG) should arrive at 1543 hours, 33 late.

A333 VH-QPI on the overnight NRT - MEL, VH-QPI, is arriving at about 0908, 83 minutes late on Thursday 24 May 2018.

Annoyingly, Google and FR24 show this flight as being on time. It appears that on occasion, these sources change the departure time if a flight is late and then misleadingly refer to it as 'on time' when officially it is not.

Updating the previous post, 24 May's next duty for VH-QPI was QF29, the scheduled 0935 hours morning MEL - HKG that did not commence pushback until 1051, but then had a quick taxi and takeoff at 1102. Accordingly, likely arrival is 1755, 35 minutes late.

B738 ZK-ZQD (also Thursday 24 May) on QF144, the lunchtime 1310 hours AKL - SYD apparently took off at about 1319 but had to return after smoke from a faulty oven allegedly filled the forward part of the passenger cabin.

Not sure if this flight has yet departed from AKL (as at 1550 AEDT.)

QF states that QF147, the 1600 hours SYD - AKL will depart at 1810 tonight but this could be an underestimate of any delay.

QF139 on Thursday 24 May 2018 (1755 hours SYD - CHC) did not take off until 1905 (B738 VH-XZI) so arrival should be at about 2355 hours, 55 minutes tardy.

The 1300 QF434 MEL-SYD is likely going to be a few minutes late. A wheelchair pax had be to helped off and one needs assistance boarding.

My 1330 flight was cancelled so I was moved forward.

Also on Friday 25 May 2018, QF27 (1235 hours lunchtime SYD - SCL) departed 18 minutes late but is expected, same day, to have a 45 minute late arrival at 1155, slightly delaying pushback of the return QF28.
