Hi all.
We have a short trip to SIN in a couple of weeks, but have run into a slight snafu.
Our flight is due to arrive at 0230 on 14/5, with our accommodation booked (through Wotif) from the same date.
That means we have nowhere at this stage to sleep on arrival.

Am I right in thinking the transit lounge is not an option? Since we are not actually transiting.

We contacted our hotel and asked to add the night of 13/5 to our booking, with a post-midnight arrival. Instead of simply doing so they have directed us back to Wotif. Their prerogative I suppose.

I'd rather not shell out another $300 if I can avoid it, but I suspect at this stage I can not.
Can anyone recommend another solution?

Ask hotel to make a separate booking (contract between you and hotel - wotif not involved for extra night. And ask them to make a note in booking that you have an additional Wotif booking and request same room for both bookings.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Can you amend the dates in Wotif directly? You can do that with booking.com so presume it’s the same.

Not online, although likely on the phone. I think the solution proposed by QuickStatus is the most probable.
Thanks to both of you.

Sorry was also going to say that transit hotels at Changi cannot be used if you clear immigration.

Yeah. Pretty sure even if you don't go through immigration first it's not really an option, as they usuually want to see your onward BP.
Your first idea seems the best.

Another option find another much cheaper hotel to use when you arrive. Probably can get a basic hotel for quite a bit cheaper than $300. Then move to your originally booked hotel when ready.

Thanks all.
Sorted with a separate booking at a discounted rate for the Grand Mercure Roxy. About time my Accor membership was useful for something.
About $120 cheaper than the ParkRoyal wanted for the night. Maybe should have booked this joint to start with.

I've stayed at the Roxy before. Clean rooms, nice pool, minutes away from SIN and a short walk from a terrific hawker centre. It's a bit out of the way but for a quick in and out, it's perfect.

You should be able to use transit hotel first before heading off through immigration. They didn't ask me for a boarding pass last month. I didn't have one anyway as I was flying from T4 the next day.

The T1 transit hotel was good value for the SGD58 I paid for 6 hours use of single room. Had a good sleep.

I have also stayed at the transit hotel and never been asked for an onward BP. The only hitch I could see with using the transit hotel in this situation is if you have checked baggage - from memory I'm not 100% sure that you could reclaim baggage and still return to the airside concourse where the transit hotel is. That said, I think you can do so, as in SIN you don't clear passport control until after reclaiming your bags.

Another option for future reference is to book a "day use" room at the Crowne Plaza Changi, although you still can't check in until 8am so still not great for OP's specific circumstances, but if arriving a bit later in the morning it can be ideal. They charge $180 from 8am to 4pm (or for any 8 hour period as long as you check out by 8pm.

The Roxy is a surprisingly nice hotel with free transfers (not sure about 2:30am) to/from airport and MRT.

Even has an exec lounge.

Depending on terminal the last shuttle bus is at 01:30(T1) / 01:40(T2) / 01:50(T3)

You clear immigration first then baggage then customs. Once you clear immigration you cannot return to transit area without boarding pass.

Transit hotel is fine then clear immigration and go to left baggage where they store unclaimed bags and then clear customs and head off to hotel.
