What to wear to get an upgrade

Another news article about flying.
Anyone think it's true?

Flight attendant reveals what to wear to bag a free first class upgrade

Why would anyone bother with the click bait that was originally published in the UK Sun newspaper let alone take any notice of it. It’s complete drivel.

I really feel sorry for men in business suits sitting in whY or even J on long haul flights. They are never going to get an upgrade so why not be comfortable. Most In F are in jeans and Ts or shirt, before they change into the prison grey or brown uniforms.

Just don't wear thongs, or UGG boots. If you do get an upgrade before departure (for reasons likely unrelated to your attire) at least you will be allowed into the lounge.

While I do agree with the general drift I do have a friend who flies 4 times a year CNS-HKG-CNS on CX. He takes chocolates to the check-n desk, wears a tie (old ties are mainly for securing the birds of paradise in Cairns) and has a very high bs factor. He claims 6 out 8 upgrades from Y to J per year. Maybe the claim is part of the bs lol? :)

Saw thongs in MEL recently. Staff may have permitted it, or the pax may have changed footwear inside the lounge.

Why? I don't wear suits but I do wear business/casual long sleeve shirt, pants with a belt, jacket and dress shoes and not once have I thought I'm not comfortable and need to dress down.

If clothes aren't tight comfort level is not an issue. Why is a pair of jeans more comfortable than a pair of slacks?
