Applies if this is a daft question but I am trying to avoid check in baggage
What is the storage bins like in business on this flight ?
I will have the allowable 2 carry ons but wondering about room
First time flying domestic in quite a few years
Thanks

Depends a bit on the aircraft. Do you know which one you are on?

If on an A330 there's plenty of room in the overhead bins. Less so for the 737s though business class usually shouldn't be a problem. There's space for a small-medium size bag under the seat in front of you as well (assuming you're not in row 1)

You can have up to 2 x 105cm bags, each up to 7kg and a personal item.

If you are concerned, be at the gate at the front of the (premium if existing) queue when boarding begins.

Also be aware of what you are not allowed to take onboard: What I cannot take onboard

Items will be confiscated. Some of these are permitted in checked-in luggage however.

I can definitely fit the requirements weight and size wise. Lol I am just used to carrying on the basics and with a small suitcase.
This time all the items are staying in Melbourne and i don't want to have to case to bring home

Appears to 737 and I am in row 3

Travelling in J I wouldn’t be concerned - if you meet the carryon requirements for size/weight then there will be space.

J actually often has less space as the bins above Row1 are often filled with various junk.

But board early and no issue

While QF have improved storage above row 1 a little bit it still means more demand for the bins over 2 and 3.. but 2 and 3 also have space under the seat in front. It would likely be OK.

Not an issue for the OP but for reference ....With the curvature of the 737 over row 1, full size bags won't stow wheels first. They have to go in sideways, restricting the amount of overhead available.
