Interesting if not concerning article about RR engines for the 787

"The AD is expected to require inspections and a reduction in the ETOPS long-range operation to 140 minutes from the nearest airport from 330 minutes, sources say. Inspections have to be made by May 20, according to preliminary information. If inspections fail, ETOPS may be reduced to 60".

AirNZ, Latam, Norwegian, ANA, Virgin Atlantic Etihad and Emirates all affected.

Emirates and Etihad not affected directly - the article states they’re offering to wet lease aircraft to replace the 787’s.

Emirates doesn’t have any 787’s.

The RR Trent 1000 engine is used on about 1/3 of 787s. Airlines using them include VS, TR, SQ, BI, DY, LO, GF, LY, BA, AV, NH, NZ and LA.

Air New Zealand suspends flying two 787s for engine repairs

Air New Zealand says it will have to remove two Boeing 787-9s from service for as long as “a number of months” while their Rolls-Royce Trent engines undergo repairs.

It mentions NZ may wet-lease from HiFly again.
