AMEA Book Direct Promotion for up to 40K points

It’s on again. Received the email today titled “Enjoy a free night on us when you book direct” basically 40k Bonus Points when you book direct for stays in AMEA between now and Dec 2018.

1k for registering
5k 1st stay
9k 2nd stay
15k 3rd stay
10k Completion bonus

There were some articles over on Loyalty Lobby a couple of weeks ago for similar, as well as a 70k promo (extra points for IC stays) which I might have accidentally signed up for (yes, I know...)

Anyway, my offers now have nested promos. This could be interesting....
 
Tried to register for the 70K promo but it say that I am not eligible .....
 
I received the 40,000 promotion but a couple of conditions throw me off.

Must book using the app which means losing MrRebates cashback unless anyone knows how to incorporate the 2.

Each stay has to be greater than USD100 excluding taxes. It pretty much rules out most hotels we usually stay unless booking multiple nights.

Also not sure how it will stack with Accelerate.
 
Mine said App, Website or call. Plus TA bookings direct with hotel usually count (such as my Corp discount).

You're right. Not sure why my mind thought IHG app only.

I'll register and make some bookings. See how we go with Q1 Accelerate 2018.

So why would signing up for the 70k promo be a problem? I’m in the same boat also.

Yes, but Ts&Cs for the offers on LL mention the offer is non transferrable and for recipient only....(ie Targeted).

When that article was posted, it stated that the registration page was open to all - so I clicked through

Anyway, I have Accerlate, Stay in AMEA (71K) and now Book Direct (40k) all nested.

Neither of the AMEA offers have posted the 1K for registering - so far. I was at the HI Perth when the 71K Stay promo landed - it’s posted to Accerlate but nothing against the other - so far.

IMHO - No. What’s done is done. Go along for the ride. Unless you’re a serial repeat offender with multiple accounts cashing in on poor IHG IT checks - I suspect you’ll be fine.

I got away with last years promotion and received the first 2 bonus points but nothing for the 3rd and final bonus. When I followed up with email they said they will check and I will only receive the bonus points if I'm entitled to receive the bonus points.

I had sucessfully registered even though I was not targetted. I have over 800,000 points and I don't want to risk them.

Cool I’m gonna risk it. Have no points in my account anyway.
 
Well I registered but not feeling the love. Received 40k points email and registered last year, never received 25.000 of the promised points. Enquiries about why never responded to. Was going to complain to Qld fair trading but not got around to that. Make a promise and don't live up to it, great way to breed disloyalty.

Checked the rate for a one night stay at HI Express BNE and it doesn't qualify unless I pay $38 more for the flexible rate - with a slight exchange rate risk as well given I'm not booking a USD rate. Pass. Also checked out a two night stay in HI Darling Harbour SYD and went with Radisson Suites instead and their much better rooms for much the same price. Radisson also have a promo, although their points don't tend to go as far as IHGs.
 
Has anyone received their 1K for registering? Let alone other bonus points?

Me zip so far from two promos and one stay that should have triggered one bonus points.....

My partner received an email that 1K points coming (for registering) but so far they’re a no-show.

I didn’t receive any emails like that - other than the confirmation emails they I had registered.
 
Zip. And I was very careful to register using the email link :/

Given also the debacle of unfulfilled promise with this promotion last year, I am ready to give IHG the heave ho, apart from redeeming points.

I don't remember seeing an email but got the message in the app (signed in) about the promotion.
Registered but never got the 1k. Having upcoming stays and receiving an email reminder from IHG to make use of the offer, I sent an internal email via IHG online to ask about the 1k and confirm I'm registered properly even though it's showing in my registered offers.
They responded and said I wasn't targeted so I'm ineligible for the offer. I replied (nicely) and told them if that's the case, then please don't show targeted offers in the app when I'm signed in and I'm not targeted...and then no response...haha
