Its very similar to IHGs Priority Privilege:

• Up to 50% reductions on dining at over 70 participating Marriott hotels across Asia Pacific
• 20% off the leisure rate, lowest room rate of the day
• Dining certificates worth more than $900
• Complimentary wine when dining etc

Believe its $300 or so, and there is a capacity limit on rooms using the certs and using overseas re the Accomodation benefit.

Thanks Mattressman and markis10, trying to figure out if its worth purchasing from australia- or doiing what we did last time- got it from thailand...the fine details for thailand package easily found online...not so with australia! Is there a complimentary night??

Have accor adv plus for many years- got a call from star privilege pacific (ihg) offering a 3 month $99 deal- but no certs- dining benefits only- declined that one...

will wait for callback or an update...

ps- did they include a status upgrade for Marriott ??

Thanks Markis 10 - good to know. I guess the one 'clearer' benefit is use in the 'region' ..i wish PP was more open about this...thanks again

Hi mumof2sydney - apologies i dropped out of this thread - I have all the details for Australia (though looks like you don't need it now!) ..if you do pm me your email address and i will send. Current Australia price is 305$ per year. Interesting to note at the bottom of all the documentation is the below note which suggests vouchers can't be used outside of Australia (when buying Australian membership); they give you a brekkie, a wine and a 50$ voucher.

NB: The Club Marriott membership vouchers can only be used within Australian Hotels and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Overseas there is a one card per table policy.

Thinking of taking up this offer as a need has arisen.

They offer 2 cards (2 different names) like for you and your partner or for a business associate. Anyone interested in splitting the cost to get a card - PM me. Cheers.

Bringing an old thread to life....

Now that SPG and Marriot have merged, the SPG version no longer exists. Club Marriott | is $395.

Just curious someone can shed some light on the "4 X Complimentary Room Upgrade Certificates". What are the terms and conditions of these? Would it include an upgrade to a suite if you've booked just below a suite?

Hi mate, as usual on these things YMMV.

I was always Platinum while I was on the program so can't vouch first hand as I was already getting upgraded but I gifted these certs. to various people most of them going from entry level rooms to nicer rooms. 1 did have a higher level room booked and got a 'Jnr.' Suite ..the other person in another situation did not but got the best / highest Corner view available ...so I reckon it is 50/50 with these certs. The biggest 'value' will be if you booked an entry level room as I can't see them being too generous with the certs.

Hey my Starwood Star Priviliges member ship comes up at end of June 2018 (I let my Club Marriott expire as I had overlap) but will look to rejoin in May (maybe earlier) so if you are still thinking of joining we could share the membership (they give you 2 cards and you can have 2 different names on them) and we could split the certificates as I don't need the upgrades.

cheers,

Peter

Anyone out there interested in sharing a Club Marriott membership and share the costs? You can have all the upgrade vouchers (we can come to an agreement on the $ food vouchers) as I am Marriott Platinum. When you sign up they give you 2 cards and they can have completely different names on it. Just interested primarily in a card and sharing the cost. Let me know if you are interested via PM.

Cheers

They dropped that 99$ certificate or at least that is what I was told and I don't see it in the email I received in December. It was excellent if you could find availability but the problem is they focus so much on Gold Coast and not other locations. It is all still good value if used correctly and in coordination with the monthly offers particularly if you are doing a Stay 7 Pay 5 in the South pacific. I wish they would have kept the 10% off the best rate (prepaid) but instead they are hanging the discount off the best flexible rate. Oh well!

The 10% off is the best available rate...including pre-paid. Basically if it is available online, you get 10% off. At least that's what I was told and therefore expect.

I hope they do :( ..so far though I have only seen it off the BFRate.

Have a look at this scenario: link

This is for Sun, 25 Mar 2018 - Mon, 26 Mar 20181 room: 1 adult, 0 children per room

Ahh it must just be the Starwood properties they have not set up correctly.

I just checked a Marriott Sydney date and it was as you would expect Daver6 ..hopefully they will get the SPG stuff sorted. Actually hopefully they will merge the programs before end of year!!!

How do you even get it to show the Club Marriott rate online?

I was told you need to contact the hotel directly to get the 10% of whichever advertised rate you wanted.

Ironically, when booking Le Meridian Ile des Pins, I got an even better offer direct with the hotel, unrelated to the 10% discount. Was made clear that there would be no 10% discount as the rate I got was not an advertised rate. Not complaining as it was still a great deal.
