No firm completion date as yet, but with this and the new CX and BA(?) offerings BKK should be well off for OW lounges by next year.

Airport will add lounges | Bangkok Post: business

Suvarnabhumi will be the second airport outside Qatar Airways' Doha hub where the airline has its own lounge. Its Suvarnabhumi lounge is expected to be an upgrade of its world-acclaimed facility at London...

Any more on this proposed lounge?

I'm spending 5 hrs in BKK in few weeks between flights.

Arr. QF
Dep. UL

So will try and get to OW lounges:

BA
CX (new)

Any other? QF?

Ok looked up OW website...

Louis Tavern in terminal G seems to be one for, MH, QF and UL.

CX would be the first choice.

JL will be open but that's in terminal D.

Qatar Airways Is About To Open A Brand New Premium Lounge At Bangkok Airport On February 8th, 2018 - LoyaltyLobby

The lounge doesn’t appear to be indicated as a oneWorld Lounge and if the Qatar Airways Premium Lounge in London Heathrow is anything to go by then this lounge is going to be pretty nice, yet the access policy won’t allow oneworld sapphires or emeralds flying economy. For the LHR facility you must have a business or first class boarding pass with Qatar Airways to gain access to this lounge.

Based on that, passengers on other oneWorld Airlines would have access to this lounge as long as they fly Business or First Class. That being said, nothing prevents each lounge from having their own rules so I wouldn’t be surprised about changes.

If Qatar makes this one of those oneworld rule-exempt lounges, that would be very disappointing. It's getting out of hand.

Was transiting through BKK and was really looking forward to trying this lounge before flying in to Sydney

Just a couple of things travellers should note

1 it appears that only first and business class passengers can use the lounge. If travelling in economy with sapphire or emerald you won’t be allowed in

2 they have a dress code despite being 33 degrees outside - thongs and shorts aren’t allowed . Trousers and covered shoes are needed. These are only apparent reading the entry rules on the door.

3. They’ll try to redirect you to closed lounges

Anyway hope this helps

Was looking for a shower before my flight so ended up back in the emirates lounge after a while I Cathay
Sakura lounge wasn’t open

Thanks for the report ... yes, it seems Qatar have their own idea what being a member of oneworld means.

They will provide pyjamas to those inappropriately attired.
The showers have been out of action since shortly after opening, when someone had a nasty accident with a shattered glass screen.
Aside from the novelty factor I'd say it's on a par with the EK lounge - nice enough, but I won't be going out of my way to use it.

In my opinion smart dress code at all times in lounge regardless of outside temperature is my kind of lounge.

Was on QF24 ex BKK 2 weeks ago and when booking in was directed to the Emirates Lounge.

Don't worry, it's nicer than the QR lounge, which gets very mixed reviews on Flyertalk

I was there a few weeks ago and can confirm it has a few issues, and yes, they won't admit OneWorld elites if not flying QR business/first.

i wonder if anyone know if this new lounge will be available for J PAX flying Qatar to Hanoi on Qatar ticket? this flight is at 2.45 pm and it seems that their new lounge is close at this time!
