Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Hey AisleSeat, what did you think?
I tried this one about 2 weeks ago and thought it was very good but perhaps a bit young?
Didn't seem to have the creaminess I have found in Ashton Hills nor the raw edge of the Leasingham Clare.
I haven't had a sparkling Shiraz in a long time so wasn't sure what to expect. I liked it. Yes, as you said it wasn't creamy but had a full mouth feel (as much as I hate that phrase). Very low tannins, but a tingly aftertaste on the tongue. I'd like a other to keep for a while. Had to open this one for the in-laws to taste as they'd never heard of such a thing.

Brought this back across the ditch at Christmas. Interesting. Bit sweet, mushrooms on the palate at the start (not the nose), soft silky tannins. Drinkable but not brilliant.

An interesting product from Giant Steps (bought from Nicks). Nice mouth feel, softish tannins, Shiraz adds a nice touch of spice and white pepper (Rotundone) which decreases with breathing. Still very young. Be very interesting in a year or so.

I had dinner at a venue last night which serves the Leeuwin Estate Prelude Series by the glass. They also serve the Leeuwin Estate Art Series by the bottle.

I had a good chat to one of the assistant managers last night and he said some junior staff got confused when he was off work and started serving the Art Series by the glass (at the Prelude price). Needless to say the sommelier was rather annoyed when he found out.

Unfortunately they had fixed this by the time I dined there last night.

Friday night Chardonnay. One from Dan’s. Lovely wine. Excellent mouth feel, slightly chalky, integrated oak and malo, limes, peaches...

Apologies to the Chardonnay thread!
