Do Cruises have IDB's?
Involuntarily Denied Boarding!

It's an Airline term where a flight get's oversold; some people are denied boarding even if they have are ticketed.

Maybe there demand for longer cruises at higher value to the Company than those hopping on for just a couple of days.
i have read of instances on Cruise Critic but it’s quite rare. Would raise quite a stink in the media here if it happened on an Aussie cruise. Trash the brand in fact.

40 forecast for Adelaide on Friday. PL may be cooler.

So, they overbook, ‘refund’ your cruise money only if you spend that as OBC on a 6 day cruise that they give you free for all that inconvenience. They’ve got another think coming I think.

I remember reading that they are Liguriam bees I think. And as they don’t have the disease that’s affecting the rest of the world, visitors can’t take honey to KI.

I'm taking my passport too. I will feel more secure in case we get diverted to NZ :D;) Yes I know that's unfortunately unlikely.

KI honey is supposedly really rare and pure because it's from some 19th century strain of bees that missed out on some disease or other due to being on an island (I think??). So if you like honey it might be worth tasting that. See if you can tell the difference lol

Once before on an overbooked cruise, the day before the cruise Princess rang me and offered that if I changed from my balcony cabin to an inside cabin they would give me a full refund (actual refund, none of this OBC nonsense). So I said yes, and effectively cruised for free. Took 6 weeks to get the refund though. The offer I got today is not nearly so good!

BOM forecast for next week for ADL - 37 on Thursday, 40 on Friday

I wouldn’t be able to stay in an internal cabin. If they offered more days so that you could actually do a decent length cruise, like maybe 12 days (best to have something specific in mind before accepting), I’d consider it.

Why? We spend only about 8-9 hrs per day in the cabin. All except about 30 min is sleeping time.

We take any type of cabin and make the decision based on the cruise location, the ship and the cost.

Some newer ships have a virtual window which serves the purpose quite well.

Oh wow. Very interesting. Love_the_life made our booking so she may have received that. I only get the excursion emails.

They’ve overbooked! Nice little bribe there for TA’s ;)
Nothing in my inbox. If I get one should I cancel on your behalf???? I thought not! Besides Princess is not my preferred cruise line so not sure about a free cruise. :p
Wonder if they are targeting Adelaide passengers who don't have flights in to join the cruise??

Less than a week till open sea views, sea air and not having to spend any time at all on food shopping, food preparation or washing up - I'm really looking forward to this! :):)

Princess hasn't replied to my generous offer to move to an inside cabin on this cruise in return for a full refund ;):p

I reckon a lot of people are embarking in Melbourne for the extended cruise that starts on 23rd. I still don’t get the delayed embarkation of 1pm and I imagine if there are overseas regular Princess cruises then this will be ignored as 11am is the usual.

Also - what status/category level has black cards?

Clearly our scintillating company does not rate as highly as house keeping

Is there a dedicated pick up spot for Uber at ADL ?

At the airport? Yes. Walk out of the terminal and there is a sign that says Taxis and Ride Shares. Taxis are on the left so keep walking straight until you come to the usual drop off road, cross at the pedestrian crossing then through the rental car area a bit and it’s on your hard left. We had one before Melbourne.
