Lol, ditto mine is the same dates but double points. Not that double SC are any use for me at the moment anyway.

Targeted it is indeed.
I am the "manager" for my own and my parents VFF account, and none of the 2 iterations have appeared in my email inbox.
And yes, VFF certainly know my email address.

Mine must have a typo -- it says double points :(
Same!

No surprise given my earn in the past 12 months has been big compared to average. Probably just let it go through to the keeper.

Zippo in my inbox on this - as usual!

I was thinking only this week Velocity really has been moribund for a couple of years now.

No excitement or active promotions of any real kind.

Qantas had a pretty attractive looking discount off point redemptions late last year.

Virgin does nothing like that anymore.

Been a Virgin Platinum for many years and the BEST and most useful part of that was getting Hilton Diamond status for a few years. That is SAD. That is not even Virgin airlines related!

Row #3 is about the ONLY perk worth having today, and they near took that away too a year or so back, as many will recall. Lounges are nice but most tiers have access to them correct?

“Fly Ahead” on all fares they SHOULD have left in place for Plats and they stupidly removed it from all members. Little perks like that are WHY folks strive for top level flyer plans. There needs to be some tangible benefits and differences to strive towards - or people do NOT really bother.

Airfare prices domestic thru the ceiling in the past 18 months – cheaper to fly to NZ than Adelaide near all times. Even “Happy Hour” offerings are super lame in recent months. Nothing cheap, and nothing special.

Platinum seems to offer near NOTHING in useful benefits over Gold these days, so I really wonder why we bother to be honest, and others tell me the same story.

Never see operational upgrades anymore, we used to see that a lot more a few years back on lighter booked flights.

No social interaction, with an invite to some promo of some kind for ages, except some lame Canada “B” team Ice Hockey thing mid 2017, that needed members to wait outside in the winter cold for the rep to meet them, and THEN for 5 hours not even any nibbles or drinks offered by Virgin – bizarre. Delta did, United did. Smart for airlines.

Hope someone in at HQ gets some marketing folks with the barest clue, in to dream up a few enticing things, or Virgin higher status will remain pretty irrelevant to most.

They should scrap the current rolling tier nonsense and do calendar year status like all US carriers do. Simple to follow and simple to police and understand. Get 1000 SC in calendar 2018 and you are Plat. Simple as that. With family pooling the Anniversary date changes with EVERY status level change right now - insane.

Double status credits for all members, for tickets booked in a brief window like this is pretty savvy really, as $ cost to them effectively zero, and it just generates a sharp cash injection, and gets a lot of bums on seats that otherwise would not bother. :D

United and American were masters at doing that – and it worked

We’d probably book biz fares to USA or HK or somewhere on impulse, and we would not be alone.

Hopefully, the ones in the email made more sense! They did for me (at least the dates looked correct, or rather made sense)

Feeling better now.

I would ban all bonus SC promotions as they punish those who earn their status in accordance with the published rules of the program...

The email T&C appear to be correct and consistent with the body of the email.

The conformation T&C appear to be a hangover from the November double/triple point promotion...

Well you would never run a profitable airline then. :D

Qantas do it annually IIRC and the US airlines do it.

If the airline offers it, IPSO FACTO it is a published benefit for the plan.

Gets a lot of impulse bookings and a short sharp cash hit - $$ cost to the airline - ZERO.

The newsflash is they are out to make money. And right now Virgin needs to start doing that FAST.

Still nothing from VFF in my email box as of now, must be "lost in the system/system problem/technical fault", ahem ahem, still waiting
VA/VFF wink wink...
But, being a bit of a plump pooch, the only good thing that I like with the VA/VFF system, (despite no DSC/50% Status offers for me), is the ability to buy Y(X) at the time I need to fly, without having to phone up.
And if row 3 is not available, then I will take row 4 as a subbie.
Granted, the plane may change to a F100, (not that its one of my favourite planes), but that still gives me a 2 across on row A and B.

i got this however when i click on the activate offer, it gives me a page with dates dating back to oct/nov double sc promo..................

Just received the double status credits offer which is a first for me in six years and needing 100+ credits by the end of feb to keep gold may sway me to keep it for another year.

Received Double Status Credits around 10pm last night and was able to cancel today’s and Thursday’s flights and re-book with Business Promo. Might do a few more with this offer.

I got the double status credits offer. Very convenient! I hope it counts the flights I booked yesterday before the email arrived :D

Daughter (never flown VA but accumulates points) 1K per segment, SWMBO (Not flown for 2 years) 2 x Points and Myself (Already requalified WP) 2 x Points.

Note these targeted offers appear to be for bookings made by 1st February for travel until December 12th.
