New Novotel for South Wharf area? saw some signage on site today while driving through Melbourne.

Found some info about the construction going on around south wharf but no mention of the hotel brand. Mentioned a new hotel around 20 floors in height, sounds good as Accor have nothing in the way of a modern business hotel in Melbourne ATM.

Sheraton Four Points Docklands ?

Mercure Tamworth is a new building (still under construction) due to open this month.

four points was to be built over in Docklands. this site is right next door to Hilton South Wharf, ontop of the existing car park. the article i read mentioned all the work is to add capacity to the convention center.

the fact that novotel on collins has just changed hands might have something to do with it/or nothing at all. time will tell.

New Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour opening September 2017 - see SOFITEL DARLING HARBOUR

Be great to have another - newer - sofitel in Sydney.

I agree, I'm massive fan of Sofitels, especially of the awesome beds (own a few of the bed items pillow, mattress topper etc) but, because of the location, I don't expect it to be any cheap.... I recently paid $300+ at the Ibis Darling Harbour!

I've stayed at Four seasons and Novotel previously for $230-$250 per night. Sofitel will need to compete with Star city also. I suspect prices won't be too bad for a "tourist"
