I am trying to book a flight from Sydney to Melbourne and came across this flight - JQ 62 leaving Sydney (Jetstar doesn't say which terminal) to Melbourne International.

This flight looks bugged to me because JQ 62 is advertised as a Ho Chin Minh to Sydney (and does not continue to Melbourne) but I could be wrong. Anyone have an idea of what is going on with this flight?

If this flight does exist then it would be good news to those who want to depart on an international terminal on a Sydney to Melbourne leg

With JQ, I would be spectical till you are on that flight.
Its possible that its a continuation from SGN (HCMCity) to MEL, who knows.
JQ is also known for changing flights at little notice, or putting flights/planes off due to a number of reasons, technical fault probably being the main "excuse".
(OT) I have had JQd cancel a flight I really needed on me, they knew 24 hours prior, but the only tip I had that I didn't take at all seriously that I wasn't able to do OLCI or at a booth at MEL T4 one Dec.
I then had an sms that my JQd flight got cancelled, they wanted to put me into a hotel with about Aud$150 hotel credit, with no flight option till the next day, but I needed to get MEL - ADL ASAP that day, so had to pay $210 for a QFd ticket.
Not happy with JQ as a whole.

Though I must say, when and if a person does get that JQd passenger on a JQi flight/plane, and the plane depart and does arrive where you want to go, then its a win.
When they are 99.9 right, JQ can be quite good, but there is also the chance that it can go totally horrid when and if or when/if things go wrong and you don't have another flight option.
Ta Mannej.

I do believe that as far as LCCs go they are one of the best, however it doesn't change the fact that they are an LCC.

Edit: Forgot the purpose of my post! ISTR that 1x weekly rotation operates SYD-MEL international but I"m sure others can confirm.

Based on the scheduled times I am guessing that upon JQ62 landing in SYD on Wednesdays it turns into JQ63 which then does SYD-MEL-SGN

In my case, it was an A320, supposed to be I think if I remember correctly, JQ776 late evening, Richardmel,
Don't think/remember JQ ever using B767s, only the A330s that then went back to QF.

I booked the flight and in the confirmation it did say leaving Sydney terminal one - so a new Syd - Mel JQd leaving JQi on Saturday afternoon.

This type of tag leg isn’t particularly new, but prone to cancellation from time to time
