Several years ago when i had to fly for work i completed 182 sectors one year. It was becoming a chore and i disnt really enjoy it. Was just the takeoff and land i enjoyed, the actual flight bored me. Now with my new job i dont travel as much and what travel i do is usually overseas, to a destination i have chosen because i want to go there

As all of my flying is leisure at the moment I certainly don't fly too much ;)

I think the past 3 years have been 125+ flights with one year 150 flights.

I love flying and could probably handle more but that's still a lot of flights. My weakness is booking say a SYD-BKK flight via 3-4 transit points.

When I stop commuting I think I'll still need to book 3-4 JQ cheap return day trips/month to nowhere in particular to feel like all is still normal.

My last "work" flight was 2013 - to CBR - to sit outside some minister's office for an hour - waiting for my 10 minutes. B*****ocks to that!
All my others are leisure; so not enough :)

When I was flying all over the country for work yep that was too much and back then I didn't appreciate how good QFWP is but now 99% self funded travel - no way do I fly enough

Yep, I get asked many times, what I see in the benefits of flying so much.
Most people when I see them at work ask what I did over the weekend or long weekend, I tell them I went to NZ or interstate, and their eyes glaze over!
But as a cleaning pooch, being paid by different payers, its hard to get away over the longer term, as I am just running around from job to job.

Unless I somehow end up in Why, the answer is a clear "No".

Yes, too much in the past few years. Weekends are spent travelling between countries to the next client, last week Greece, this week Thailand, next week the USA, then back to Thailand. No breaks, no spare days, it just gets so mind numbing. Will probably go close to 300,000 miles this year, all work no pleasure.

Travel makes me appreciate how much I love my family, my home and my Australia (wouldn't want to live anywhere else)!

Absolutely agree. struggle a bit when you get to the 3 week mark and that Buble song "Home" is quite hard to take. (although not a big fan of him)

I fly to work too often.
I fly home from work not often enough.( It seems that way, even though it's the same amount of times as line 1 )

Agree about the 3 week mark.... I get to 2.5 weeks regularly and that seems workable, cross over to 3 weeks and I'm very keen to get home to the puppy.... and the kids... in that order! :)

I average 50-70 flights / year. I think VA said I was wheels up 54 times last 12 months. I don't think I fly too much (maybe because one of my folks averages 90 sectors / year since i was young). Everyone around me thinks I fly too much though

Yes I fly too much.

Despite the fact I love the concept, I love the whole aviation thing, planes, etc, I am just fed up.

I have immaculate status with the main airlines I fly - Avianca - am their top tier Diamond, LATAM, their "BlacK", Qantas, that wierd beasty P1. I have the full access to all the best lounges, and I hammer them. But I indulge to cope, no longer to enjoy....

If I had to list the main residences I live in during the year, a handful of airport lounges would claim more meals and sleeps and hours than my tecnical home address with my family - this is sick :(

The flights I have bothered to put into that fancy flighttracker thing this year has already 150 flights and over 400,000 km. Many of my flights are long haul. But also myriad short slow ones. I average 2 hours EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR airborne. This year, as per last, I spend a FULL MONTH AIRBORNE. My only comfort zone is aboard. Aboard anything.

I still don't mind the Flounge in SYD - that eggs bene with a champas is a nice way to spend a morning hour. But i would be just as happy not being there :(

yes, I flapping fly too much .....
