Hi all. Long time member haven't posted for a while. Just on the phone with AA tring to book a flight Per to JFK in J and the agent is trying to tell me that the cost will be 110000 points per ticket instead of 80000. Is this correct or is this flight only able to be booked as 2 sectors? Thanks in advance.

What is the routing? Assuming via HKG? I don't think AA allows travel via a third region without pricing as two one ways barring a couple exceptions.

Thats right. Routing is Per - HKG and then HKG to JFK flying with CX

Have you checked availability via MEL/SYD/BNE and DFW/LAX/SFO?

No. There is plenty of availability on Qantas with either CX or Q. Just trying to avoid the surcharges. Have booked return on CX through qantas last night. Thanks

Keep in mind that there are no fuel surcharges when redeeming AAdvantage miles for Qantas flights.

We gave up getting J award seats on QF to LAX a long time ago, we make our way to HKG and use QF or AS or AA points from there direct to so many USA cities on Cx and pay bugger all fees unlike Qantas.
