EK F Free Helicopter Transfers - Nice

Slightly OT. That's not a real helicopter it's a Robinson and I personally would rather walk :!:

Likewise - when you see that the rotor is connected to the engine by a big rubber band, most people will think twice about getting onboard!

Yes that is a dangerous toy to be taking people on, although I think the Bell Jet Ranger was a toy as well. I do wonder if that is a stock photo and not representative of the real helicopter to be used.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Stock photo I think. The transfers are provided by Monacair and they don't list any Robbies in their fleet :)

Ooh. When?

Tried booking this through the call centre the other day, had to read out the emirates press release to them, was told it was impossible and untrue, and that they only do car transfers. Again read them the press release, they are now going to go talk to "the France office" but had no way to book - so may be more hype than reality...

Actually pretty annoyed at the experience dealing with them on this, best they could suggest is "Call back next week".

Oh that's just cough.

Would be great if you can report back as to (hopefully) a positive resolution.

So here is the response:

"I have received an email from the team in France. That service is not in place at the moment and is is something that is subject to an arrangement being worked out between Emirates and Monaco Airfor the helicopter service. It’s not in place at the moment"

So I guess I will try calling back again after July 1 and see how I go

Any further updates on this @MattinCBR

You'd think if they are advertising it on their website they'd have things locked down!

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I was wondering what happened in the end @MattinCBR ?

I've booked to go to NCE in F using QF points. I asked EK via social media how to go about booking the helicopter service because you couldn't via the CD page. They came back saying the ticket needs to be EK issued to be able to book the helicopter service, despite the fact I'm still eligible for CD.

The only mention I could find of the service on the EK website was the press release which does not mention any such restrictions. "The service will be complimentary to First Class passengers, €79 per passenger for Business Class and €109 per passenger for Economy Class."

I've linked them to the press release and asked them to direct me to the terms of the offer showing the exclusion they mentioned. I'm not holding my breath. Pretty disappointing, seems this is nothing more than a PR stunt with no mechanism to actually book and when you contact them about it they simply invent phantom terms which exclude you.

Hi team - I tried to use this service as part of my recent trip in AUG (Trip report in relevant area).

It can't be done if you are using points. I rang up 3 times to get different operators at Emirates here in Australia. They were all singing from the same hymn sheet. You need to be a fare paying customer for the chopper transfer. I even asked about paying for it as if I was in economy but they said no each time. I had a good rapport with each rep I spoke to and I was confident if there was a way to do it they would have helped.

I stayed over in Menton (beautiful spot) so had a driver drive me all the way over there instead :)

Thanks for the info @ozmatt . It's interesting that you got told you were ineligible because you made a points redemption and I was told I was ineligible because my ticket wasn't EK issued. I find EK's lack of transparency on this very misleading at best.
