Tried booking MEL- SIN in R Paid for 1st of March next year. Originally only Redeye flights available, now only F seems to be available.

Maybe there putting a hold on R class flights until the fitout is complete?

I thought they had removed the R class code and replaced it with F?

Am currently booked on the A380 SIN-MEL in mid January.

not sure if anyone else has noticed this but in the last few days SQ has appeared to block off all SQ 232 and SQ 221 flights in suites for saver class, in keeping with the expectation these will be the first flights with new suites. At least for the dates i looked at in Aug/Sep 2018. Booked my flights SYD-ZRH about a week ago on SQ 232 and was waiting to book my return on 221 but it's now just "not available" for saver level... all dates seem to be the same around that time... pretty disappointed i thought with the announcement of the new suites routes at start of Nov that it would only be around then that the flights will get blocked off, not now!

one would also expect the other flights to be replaced by that time in 2018 but it appears only those 2 flights are blocked for now

I was planning to book sq221 for mid sep this week. :(

LHR is rumoured to be the 2nd route to get the new suites, both A380 flights appear to still have saver availability on certain dates. Some people commented that the night flight (sq322) SIN-LHR is more likely to be the launch flight than the morning flight. May be I will try my luck with the corresponding return flight (sq305 LHR-SIN).

Yes I noticed similar 'blackout' flights when booking MEL-SIN-LHR suites for August next year.

Must have happened only recently. I got a confirmed saver in R on 221 for the end of Aug and there were also waitlists available pretty much every day up until then.

EDIT: I see a previous post mentions the last few days so yes only recently. :)

I just checked seat maps and availability LHR - Sydney for September 2018. Seems to be no changes. Still 12 seats in both legs and 2 savers available.

SQ322 is the connecting LHR flight from SQ222 and imo would likely be the second new A380 flight. (But what would I know? :D)
322 is always very difficult to get on points in Suites, I usually need to get PPS Club to waitlist it and push it to flight control for me.
They try to push SQ222 itineraries to the later SQ306 (77W) flight departing a couple of hours later..

I would not put too much store in that it still shows 12 seats.
People that actually buy First Class seats don't normally do it that far out. It is just those of us that book award First Class that do it so far in advance as Saver Seats are very limited. So SQ do not really need to block out F to prepare for the change.

I'm looking at SQ 322 LHR-SIN A380 in J for next September. Just wondering if 322 would be likely to be reburbished at that time. Thanks. Continuing on with SQ 221 through to SYD as well.

So far I have had no difficulty in booking F to CGD or LHR form Melbourne or Sydney.
Currently have bookings for Jan, April, June and Sept all in suites - I just hope that they do not downgrade some of my flights when / if they reduce the number of seats in suites.

SQ won't downgrade you unless they take F off the route, which they won't.
The only chance is being bumped to a different flight.
