Qantas Ultimate Amex: 100k Points, Flight/Credit, 0% BT (New 5/8/17 - Exp 28/9/17)

I just checked my points list and Energy Australia earned 1.5 points.
From memory I was charged a small fee for paying with a credit card on the following Energy Bill.

That would sound right. It definitely is not government affiliated, Energy Australia is actually owned by a Hong Kong company

Just adding my referral for anyone interested in getting this card.

Re: Qantas Ultimate Amex: 100k Points, Flight/Credit, 0% BT (New 5/8/17 - Exp 28/9/17

Here is my referral link for the current Qantas American Express Ultimate Card referral campaign:

http://amex.com.au/refer/alexah4trp

If you apply using this link by 28 September 2017, you can get 100,000 Qantas frequent flyer points and I will get 30,000. Full disclosure - the 100,000 points is the same as you would get without applying though a referral. However, you are benefitting other forum members by using these referrals, and chances are others will return the favour by using your referrals in the future (has certainly worked that way for me :)).

With the major banks having either discontinued or devalued the earn rates on their companion Amex cards, the 1.5 points per dollar on non-government spend that the Qantas Amex offers is among the most generous of any credit card in the Australian market. The other inclusions make this a generous offer, with the sign-up bonus and free flight (soon to become a $450 travel credit - see below) easily making it worth the annual fee.

All the details and 'terms & conditions' of the offer are available by clicking the referral link, but the key points are summarised below.

-Earn 100,000 Qantas Points when you apply by 28 September 2017, are approved and spend $1,500 in the first 3 months. Note that the terms and conditions state ‘Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 18 month period are ineligible for this offer’, though holders of Bank-issued American Express cards are eligible

-Complimentary Qantas domestic return Economy flight each year after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services. On 31 October 2017, the complimentary domestic flight will be replaced with a $450 Travel Credit. The Travel Credit can be redeemed for any eligible Qantas flight booked and pain online through American Express travel in a single booking

-1.5 Qantas points per dollar spent (except on government spend)

Other features of the card:

-Two complimentary entries per year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International Airport
-0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred.
-Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance
-An annual fee of $450
-An interest-free period of up to 44 days
-20.74% p.a. interest rate on purchases
-Minimum credit limit of $3,000
-Minimum personal or household gross (pre-tax) annual income requirement of $65,000

Its been 4 weeks now still no referral points, don't have the card holders name so Amex cant tell me whe, I gave them the date though.

American Express is a company that keeps giving!

If you collect Qantas points and prefer to fly Qantas, these are the cards for you.

American Express is feeling REALLY generous. They are now offering Qantas Ultimate Amex with 100000 points with free Qantas domestic flights thrown in. This is be best bang for the buck card if you are looking for Qantas points.

Essentially, it is 100000 Qantas points + free domestic Qantas flight for $450 annual fee.

The bonus Qantas points and flights will come as long as you meet the following spending criteria:

- 100,000 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date.

- Free domestic return Qantas flight (or $450 Qantas Credit after 31 October 2017) after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services. The easiest way to qualify for such flights/credits is spend just more than $1 on Qantas Future Planet, which I have already documented here in AFF:

Qantas Future Planet - Great way to activate eligible QF Spending on Credit Cards

So the best way to apply is to APPLY HERE.

NOTE: As referrer I will get 20000 points for your successful application, but I think with all the benefits here, it is a Win Win between you, me and American Express!

Amongst other things, you also get the following:

- complimentary access up to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International (Kingsford Smith) Airport T1.

- Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance.

- For free flights, you can book the flight in the name of another person;

- 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred (NOTE: Spend the $1500 on purchases first as well as 1 Qantas services to get the bonus points/free flights credits first, pay it all off, BEFORE doing this).

You can APPLY HERE.

So after having our QFF points well and truly drained after booking a trip to Europe for Mrs No Name's 40th the hunt is on for more points to fund her now well and truly acquired taste for premium class travel. I have been instructed to pursue all avenues and so I present to you the final throw of the dice for what is a fantastic AMEX offer and what would be a much appreciated referral bonus should anyone be kind enough to use my link for a last minute application:

http://amex.com.au/refer/jameshAbX0

The QF AMEX Ultimate Card is quite simply a fantastic card and probably still the best earning direct QFF pt card on the market at 1.5pts/$ on most spend & 2.5pts/$ on QF spend. Various other excellent features like insurances, 0% balance transfer for 12mths offer, a couple of passes to the AMEX lounge at SYD. While the $450 annual fee is on the high side, it can be basically completely offset with the free return domestic flight each year that comes with the card (note that very shortly this will become an equally useful annual travel credit). Direct QF spend (a flight purchase) is required to activate this however the AFF Brains Trust has uncovered a superb way to reduce the cost of unlocking this feature and happy to direct people to this via PM.

In addition, the current sign on bonus is an excellent 100,000 QF pts which will be given after spending$1,500 on the card. If anyone is kind enough to use my link I will also receive an very much appreciated 30,000pts referral bonus.

My referral link is below and I certainly appreciate any use of it.

Cheers and enjoy the card!

Thought I'd share the below regarding the free QF lounge passes, which an online chat agent advised me:

Two Qantas Club Lounge Invitations are available each Card Membership year once the CM makes their first spend on selected Qantas products and services using their Qantas American Express Ultimate Card.
Eligible Qantas products and services are:
Qantas passenger airfares with a QF flight number purchased directly from Qantas Australia by the Card Member (or on their behalf by a travel agent); and Qantas Frequent Flyer, Qantas Business Rewards or Qantas Club membership fees.
Purchases from Jetstar, Qantas Holidays, Qantas Freight, Qantas Cruises, Qantas Box Office, Qantas epiQure, and Qantas Assurance are not eligible purchases.
Invitations will be issued digitally and assigned to the Card Member’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 1-2 weeks of the Eligible Qantas Purchase.
Card Members can visit the Complimentary Invitations Portal to access their invitation
You will need to make a purchase on eligible Qantas products and services to become eligible for the 2 Qantas Lounge Invitations.

The agent subsequently commented that I would need to make another Qantas purchase, even though I had already done so this membership year, in order to access the invitations.

Thanks for that exceladdict, the $1 spend for the Qantas Future Fund (I think that's what it is called) is an easy fix for that :D:D

Happy to help. However the guy on the phone said as I was a current Amex customer you may not get the points as it has to be a new customer.
The only reason I got the 100k in points is I have the DJs Amex, and they say that is a different system and not a real Amex so I am a new 'real Amex' customer...

Thanks for posting this. I too have the DJ card which I want to keep as the 3 points per $ at supermarkets & petrol is very worthwhile (especially for buying gift cards).

Based on your experience, I think I'll give it a go. If I don't get the sign-on points I'll get my fee back by using the travel voucher and then move on.

I would be happy to use a referral link however a family member (& fellow AFFer) has offered theirs.

Applied and got approved; and +1 has received her points for the referral. Now to see if I get the sign-on bonus despite having a DJ Amex card. Fingers crossed.
