Rant about Telstra roaming

Just whingeing.
I am in Bangkok and have had "no service" on Telstra prepaid roaming for over 24 hours.
No for calls, SMS or Internet.
It was fine for the prior 2 weeks.

only wanted it for banking etc. where I prefer not to use hotel wifi or need to receive SMS.

Its more annoying because I normally travel with extra handset and buy local sim. Didn't do that this time.

Telstra live chat has not been working on iPad or android phone using wifi.

I even logged into Facebook (rare for me). messages back and forth every 4-8 hours over more than 1 day.

Telstra at first said I should use live chat (not working) or call (but no service on my phone).
when I queried if this was connected to Telstra problems in Australia I was told no. They suggested it was just my number where there was a problem.

Several hours later I was advised that others overseas were having same problem and it would be reported.

i am wondering if it will start working in the next few days, or even if I will have service when I return to Sydney. My pick up person is expecting a call from me when I land.

I am having the exact same problem, can't ring them because my sim has died, can't get 24/7 help line on my iPad , i went on there Facebook page and messangered them , they gave me some links for 24/7 help Line, still not working on wifi and iPad.i bought a local Thailand Sim here in Patong to ring Telstra was put on hold for 30 min then all my credit went, so I still have got anywhere with them, the funny part about this is that the both our phones worked for the first 2 days but both died within an hour of each other, NOT HAPPY JAN
 
I am not sure of the phone number but you can ring Telstra and reverse the charges to them. I have done it before and no problems at all.
 
Finally my roaming is working again. It was fine for first couple of weeks. Then not working for last couple of days. Lots of chats with Telstra Facebbok who told me I would have to phone them as it must be specific problem only for me!
Suddenly it started working again tonight.

I noticed because I got several SMS. Two of these were from Telstra the "welcome to Thailand" message and the rates message. Same as received over two weeks ago.

Happy that it's working again even though I am heading home tomorrow night.

I hope any other people who were having problems have also had service restored.

May I tag onto your thread with my own Telstra roaming issues? I have noticed multiple 1-6kb roaming charges appear on my bill, even though I have roaming data disabled on the phone. This is the first time this has happened though I travel fairly frequently and have changed nothing else.

Anyone else getting this issue?
