I thoroughly enjoyed my F seat to and from PEN on the 7th and 8th Jan. It was comfortable and though narrower than I was expecting, it was such that I’m looking to fly MH to LHR in F later this year.
Just checked my CC page and HSBC has noted the 60,000 point to be transferred to my QF account next sweep, even though I already had the no-fee HSBC CC for 18 months. Made the min spend in the first month.
For redemptions, I'm usually still transiting HK when I book so it is the HK number.
My last seat request was for two CX flights booked under AY codes and I used the MPC Green/Silver/Gold line at 7:30am HK time and had only about a 5 minute wait until the call was answered. Spent longer on hold...

I was in a similar situation to you last year. My advice is for your first credit card to apply for one with your bank if you have been with them a long time. I got declined for a Westpac Credit Card two years ago even though I was earning 20% more than when I applied for a credit card with HSBC...

Not sure if OP is aware, but Marco Polo Gold is achieved after 90k miles (30k to Silver THEN another 60k to Gold). So it may be an idea to go with QF is this isn't achievable, although CX is still reasonably generous to their lower tier members.
