Should Qantas sack their website team?

They should improve their website, yes. Sacking the entire team, no.

Qantas cancelling accounts of people who buy/sell points on "black market"

Re: QF cancelling points I saw that he or she had cut and pasted from elsewhere for our edification.

Qantas cancelling accounts of people who buy/sell points on "black market"

On the one hand, they probably don't need people earning status on the cheapest possible fares. On the other hand, they *love* people clueless enough to accumulate points and not use them.

Qantas cancelling accounts of people who buy/sell points on "black market"

Did the official team name have scare quotes as well? Not generally a good sign.

Qantas cancelling accounts of people who buy/sell points on "black market"

Because points is points. It's really not that difficult a concept. This is why earning them the hard way is a fool's game.

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

This whole thing also makes travelling indirectly way more appealing. Scenario: I want to fly in J from SYD to LAX, and there are no J awards available on QF. I could buy a Y award for 45,000 + cash, run the risk of staying in Y, and hope for the chance to end up having paid 145,000 + cash...

100 free Qantas points for doing a short survey

So what's that, the third time something like this has happened (including Aquire)?

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

I've often found that those aren't actually bookable, but appear (via EF alerts) etc. as part of the process of filling upgrades. I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out in practice. If someone is points-rich and status-poor and Qantas does prioritise the option that gets them back more...

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

Yep, that defeats the "good for people who don't have enough points just at the moment" argument. (SMH article: Or sometimes flyers don't have enough points for an award seat in a premium cabin upon booking but accumulate them by the time they actually fly through credit card spending or from...

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

Re: Requesting Upgrade on Classic Flight Reward Bookings Well, given which option would get them more points back... Ratio of points received by Qantas for upgrading a Classic Award to points received for upgrading a Flexible Economy fare: Zone 1: 2.4 (7,000 points difference) Zone 2: 2.4...

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

Re: Requesting Upgrade on Classic Flight Reward Bookings It can be phased in with stealth, just as they've done before. In essence this is aimed at making Y awards more palatable. They tried making them cheaper, and presumably that didn't boost demand enough. Just as I won't buy a more...

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

Re: Requesting Upgrade on Classic Flight Reward Bookings I've seen it approximately zero times, but it wouldn't bother me in the least.

    Red Roo is being enhanced!

Agreed. The incentive is now clearly there for Qantas to reduce J award availability, but no one will know if they actually have. Other than that, no one has to lose anything. And some people have been calling for a way to use less cash on J awards. Here it is (after the recent reduction of...

Now possible to upgrade award seats.

We're obviously not the target audience. To QF's credit, they at least made it quite easy to see what bad value the whole thing is.
