    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Just received in app 5 x points on "international foods" - which is an interesting deal to say the least with their list of "selected European, Asian, Indian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, New Zealand, UK foods, South Africa and Kosher products from the international food aisle". The "international...

Virgin Australia to be sold to Bain Capital

Reminds me of students who would complain when lecturers refused to assess their late submitted assignments.

Virgin Australia to be sold to Bain Capital

Bondholders don't seem to be happy that their late bid wasn't considered... Deloitte has described this action as "without merit" and will defend any claims against them that are put forward to the Takeover Panel. It does seem a bit weak on the info provided, particularly as the administrator...

    Physical Accor membership card?

I received physical cards (I became a Gold automatically through the purchase of an Ibis Business membership so received two separate membership packs with the cards), but have honestly never been asked to produce them. All my bookings have been directly with Accor both in Australia and...

Virgin Australia to be sold to Bain Capital

Well if Cyrus' pull out was for attention, I guess it didn't work. I just hope this sale ends with keeping as many jobs in the sector as possible in the current climate; and for those who are made redundant, that they are paid their entitlements fairly and quickly.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

The rolling developments this morning are very interesting - nice to know that even big corps can resort to teenage attention seeking tactics though 🤣

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Though Cyrus has pulled out, I don’t think Baine is the winner by default, though controversial, isn’t the bond holders’ bid is still on the table?

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Cyrus has withdrawn bid according to Brisbane Times - only just reading through article now, can’t see any other media on it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.brisbanetimes.com.au/business/companies/bain-set-to-buy-virgin-australia-after-cyrus-withdraws-bid-20200626-p556d3.html SMH at this...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but from this ABC article quoting Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) Chairman Tom Manwaring: Cyrus has confirmed it will honour existing bookings "booked and paid" if it's successful in the sale, AFTA is still waiting for a response from...

Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

Ugh that’s even worse - I hate changes in terminology (first world problem, I know)

Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

It’s a strange mix of terminology for Aussies used to points as currency and status credits for, well, status. But for Qatar I’m pretty sure qcredits are the equivalent of points, and qpoints are status credits.

1200 points for a $60 BWS spend for me. I’m so curious how they work out who gets what breakdown of $$/points in their offer.

Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

If you haven’t received an email from them registering your “service request” and giving you a reference number, I’d definitely politely follow up. My parents emailed early on as well and hadn’t gotten a reference number until a quick email follow up - it may be a glitch in their email system...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

True, however quite a bit of that was outwardly open to the public anyway through Branson’s open letter and VA staff making representations to the media in April calling for Gov assistance. There were less leaks in that the VA told everyone what they were asking for anyway as they thought...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

It's also been reported in the AFR with their article stating that the letter was sent to the offices of Morrison, McCormack, Frydenberg and Cormann. Though Deloitte has confirmed a letter was sent, it was a "source close to the sale" that gave the particulars, so could be anyone from those...
