    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

wow that’s quite a jump to conclusion you have made there based on a simple comment that AZ is available but Pfizer is being reserved for a particular location.

Pandemic Travel – The Great Escape to Canada (and back, we hope!)

Hmm interested to see how this trip goes. We have friends who are American-Canadians and recently made the trip north. Even though the male partner is vaccinated they had to test for CV before entry, quarantine on arrival at home for 14 days and during the quarantine period self administer 2 CV...

    Two-way Trans-Tasman Bubble starting 19 April 2021

I hope those that are booked to go this coming week are starting to get excited. Even just having the ability to travel to NZ makes it feel like maybe we are on the way back to normality. Now if only they would add Cook Islands.

    General COVID-19 Vaccine Discussion

But isn't that because they have decided that Torres Strait should only get Pfizer? There is plenty of AZ if they want to give them that.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

If people are eligible for vaccination in other countries might be time to arrange a holiday, get the vax and come back to Oz afterwards. Maybe they could have flights for people who have been vaccinated and know they don't need special handling or quarantine.

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

I think there are likely multiple reasons the program is dragging. Family member in 1B went for vaccination in NT but was turned away as slightly under 50 and they only have AZ, no Pfizer offered. She asked well now what and what met with a simple shoulder shrug. I was at a Drs office the...

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

I don't see any reason why sports people of any ilk should be able to jump the queue. Who cares if professional sports comes to an end, I know I don't. So what if they lose their livelihood because a big part of the population seems ok with others not being able to earn an income. As for the...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Ok well several months and we may hit 10% if they really pull their fingers out which is there little indication of happening. Even at 10% you are still only looking at 1a and 1b. I don't believe they have any intention of opening up, this story combined with the fear mongering of a 1000 cases a...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Well that means they open the borders for the 2% who have been vaccinated, so we are talking about the elderly, the sick and front line workers. How many in that group are going to be travelling and if there are government travel alerts will anyone be able to get travel insurance?

    Missing flybuys points

How long since you made the spend? I've found the FB bonuses can sometimes take a couple of days to reflect in the account. Have the regular amount of points from the shop posted?

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Respiratory illness - Effect on Travel

I think it's a lot easier getting seats out of the US so Master FM should be ok. I'm monitoring the vaccination issue and if it continues at the same snail pace lurching from disaster to disaster I am planning on taking a trip to the US in August to get a Pfizer or Moderna vax. Figure I'll have...

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Instead of banning the flights and leaving more vulnerable Australians stranded, why not just do an attitude switch and assume that everyone on the flights coming from India are likely to be infectious and take extra precaution? If front line workers are vaccinated and hospitals are not...

    Canberra in fall

1618368734 First time I have posted any photos. First is 10 days ago over by Yarralumla nursery. The fallen leaves in Kingston is the second and the 3rd is over by Scrivener Dam looking across to the Governor-Generals also taken 10 days ago.

    Canberra in fall

I live in Kingston and agree with @kookaburra75. Over the past week or so lots of leaves have started dropping. I noticed the poplars at the Fyshwick end of the lake had a distinct yellow tinge. I haven't been too far outside of my suburb past 10 days but when I was last over Yarralumla nursery...

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

Doesn't really matter because no one is going to be lining up to get any vaccination as we've been told not to bother as no one is going anywhere.
