Yes, after a couple of calls to HSBC. Apparently there was a name mis-match that caused the problem. Mine was the omission of middle name on one of them. Needed to supply passport page pic.

Just escalated to HSBC, was told it could take up to 30 days for the confirmation email to arrive (didn't realise email's slow mail...)! So playing the waiting game for a few more days... In the mean time, I'm on the SA Rewards site registering a new account.

Yeah, my itinerary would earn 820 SC. Tack on a domestic return flight from JFK, I’m looking at 980SC! All together ~$7.5k. Too bad no QF DSC this time around. Also makes VA HBA-DUD DSC run for $1100 unbelievably economical to achieve Platinum.

I just ticketed Finnair RTW in J for Apr 2020 with the main aim to get to JFK with CPH stop-over first. Yes it's not as cheap as before, ~$600 more than last year, however still very reasonable compared with other OW carriers' return prices on sale...

Same here! Flew SYD-TPE-LAX return in PE, for the same cost as Y by most carriers. Good hard and soft product. Spent the long transit going into Taipei on the airport train. ~$15 return lands you right in the middle of the bustling city with plenty to see, do and eat! Definitely do it again.
