Thanks to the above posters for the input, apologies for not acknowledging it sooner. In the end Qantas cancelled the direct LAX to MEL flight and we were moved to the LAX to MEL via SYD the next day so there was no need to test. Oh boy, transiting via Sydney airport, that was something else...

I just rang to follow up the Mr Porter credit not being applied and the consultant arranged to have it manually applied. Hopefully they get it sorted out for future credits.

Mine also says MPORTER MILAN and no credit as yet. It's going to be a pain and a bit of a disincentive to use in the future if this is going to be an ongoing benefit.
