Could you call the airline you are booked on? Equally important is how you feel. Is the trip, say, CBR-SYD or MPN to FCO? I am not sure what respiratory symptoms mean, but if you are coughing and wheezing, will bother others and may need oxygen, then I probably wouldn't fly.
