I have done the Hilton a few times. The kids loved the pool and spa before the long trip back to MEL You will need to call the Hilton for the day rate. As long as there are no bookings you can also do a walk up day room booking. From memory I paid $60 plus tax.

Just to claify, one booking is with QF and then a seperate booking with JQ for the International flight. I have 1hr 40 transfer in SYD but if QF can't check the bags all the way through I will need to change to an earlier flight.
