Should I get a paid Travel insurance policy?

Be cautious about the many 'hidden' conditions on the card insurance policy. As an example, I relied on card insurance on a multi stop holiday to Asia. I purchased all the outward tickets but left free the last return leg as I had not decided on a return date. When I made a claim due to...

The final story. Yesterday I received an email from Scoot saying that they will refund me the full amount I paid for my ticket. SUCCESS !!! I am not sure whether this is the result of the letter I sent to the CEO of Scoot or the fine imposed on Jetstar this week. Note: fine of M$1.95...

Many thanks again MEL_Traveller. I will give it a go. So frustrating that being given incorrect information by Scoot (or its agents) I not only lost my money for the Scoot ticket but I had to spend unnecessary money on a SIA Business Class seat (a different flight to the charter flight)...

But the issue is that I purchased a Business Class seat because of my physical disabilities. I was told twice that the substitute Charter Aircraft did not any Business Class seating. As a consequence I had to buy a seat on a scheduled flight with Singapore Airlines.

Thank you MEL_Traveller for your detailed and well informed response - greatly appreciated. I was told twice during telephone calls to Scoot in Singapore that the replacement aircraft was in 'all economy' configuration and that I would not have a business class seat. Any ideas about...

Good point but the issue of paying for a business class seat and not getting one and then not getting a refund is the main issue.

Pax kicked off Air NZ flight for ignoring safety briefing

I agree that they should pay attention especially as they have to accept responsibility for assisting with an emergency evacuation (if it occurs). Preferably the cabin crew should have briefed them and confirmed that they would accept the responsibility of seating in an emergency exit row...

But the issue is that I was not given a refund for the business class RPT flight that I had purchased and was not provided by Scoot

No - Charter is a category of flight operations and differs from Regular Public Transport (RPT). It was not a scheduled flight by SQ. I was advised twice that the aircraft seating was configured as all economy .

Believe me - the aircraft was all economy class. There should be no confusion. Also seats could not be pre-booked. Scoot would not give me a refund even though I purchased an alternative business class seat on a SIA flight with the mother airline, Singapore Airlines. I am sending a...
